D&D 5E (2014) Monte Cook Games' PLANEBREAKER Kickstarter Launches

And they are also going to do a Cypher System version, you would just need to let them know when you do the backerkit (or whichever service they use). That is what ultimately sold me on it - I'm playing a LOT more Cypher than D&D these days.

Live Music: What Are Your 5 Most Unforgettable Concerts?

Rush: Snakes and Arrows Tour. This was awesome - Rush is an awesome live band, as is well know, and they didn't disappoint. Return to Forever: the anniversary tour - DiMeola, Corea, Clarke and White. It was amazing. Seeing Al's fingers blur when he did some Spanish guitar was unbelievable...

"Players wanted for a Space Adventure Campaign!" What are you hoping to see?

That was part of it. And I could see politics that drive stories, but not stuff a character is involved with or that deep political manuevering wasn't something the characters did, or that made them feel ineffective. Star Wars had lots of politics, but it is hugely different than Dune.

Adapting generic TTRPG rulesets (notably Genesys)

Yeah - I've done crossovers a number of times, and it takes some prepwork - I was running a Champions game, while another in the group did the same (we swapped every few weeks). At one point the average damage, defense and point level for the campaigns matched, so we had a crossover - that...

"Players wanted for a Space Adventure Campaign!" What are you hoping to see?

With that descrition I'm immediately thinking pulpy cinematic kind of things (early star wars movies, swing off space chandeliers, lots of quips and interaction), I would expect faster pace and focusing the the "adventure" side of what you can do. I would be expecting no politics, no faction vs...

Paizo Paizo Launches Community Content Program

Looking over some details.. it looks you can use this for Pathfinder 1st or 2nd edition. Supporting both is pretty cool.

Blog (A5E) Crossing the Titan’s Garden

I read it as "spec'd" or someone who build to the specific specifications for long range combat.

Level Up (A5E) Level Up Is Coming! Spread The Word!

I expect that this will be a "we will see how the kickstarter does" kind of questions - but are gone to do a Level Up patreon, or will In5idere cover for all 5E stuff (Original and LU)?

D&D General How Do You Feel About Sigil?

I didn't really care for planescape, even though I like planar adventures. Some of it's assumptions were the exact opposite of how I set my world up with. I used it as "the great meeting place of the planes" where people would meet and had a free city feel to it (not unlike Casablanca or...

Worlds of Design: Tough Times at the Top

That is something that running superhero games really helped me with high level D&- Not to run high level D&D like superheroes... but in how to handle challenges for very powerful characters. Think of street level supers as lower level D&D, you can't run the same kind of adventure with Batgirl...

Podcast #163: Necropolis with Mark Greenberg

I'm so tempted by Necropolis, I've wanted to run this for years. I own the original Dangerous Journeys/Mythus version and the 3.x version. The digital price is not bad considering the depth of content.

    Kickstarter musings

I will back a first time - the rules I listed are "general rules" - If the project looks interesting and has good ideas, and a small sample, I'll back a first time at a digital level.

    Kickstarter musings

Most of the kickstarters I've back have hit at least 1 stretch goal a day, so letting me know which goals are being met in my inbox is a convience. And I normally only get 1 or 2 non spam emails a day, so it doesn't bother me. I could handle every few days, or weekly.

    Kickstarter musings

I've backed 43 - 1 micro video game console, 2 kitchen things the wife wanted, and the rest are RPG or Board Games. Biggest thing - I need to know who the creator is - they have to be someone I've got stuff from before (even as a contributor do a different game system), a company I trust, or...
