    Tiefling w/ non-tiefling siblings.

Human +Tiefling = Tiefling Human + Human = Human Human + Elf = Half Elf So it's entirely possible for tieflings to have human or half-elf siblings (well, half-siblings, but who's counting). Anyone doing anything interesting along these lines?

Discussions about writing in '4e compatable' mode?

Here's the thing though: If they weren't willing to sue, then they almost certainly wouldn't have written such a restrictive GSL. As it stands, they either need to sue or admit that their GSL is worthless, and I don't think they're willing to do the latter.

Human warlock question about 3rd at will power

It's worth noting that retraining your pact-specific at-will power doesn't really help you much--Each power does pretty much the same thing in a slightly different way (1d6 damage, and discourage the target from attacking you). The only obvious exception is a Cha-focused star pact warlock...

    Help me build: Jayne Cobb

I think it's basically impossible to build Jayne Cobb using the standard methods... ...The point buy rules won't let you make a character with INT WIS and CHA all less than six.

    Design and Development: Monsters

Assuming the dragon breathes every round it can, its chance of breathing on any given round is as follows: Round 1: 100.0%% Round 2: 25.0% Round 3: 31.3% Round 4: 39.1% Round 5: 48.8% Round 6: 36.0% Round 7: 38.8% Round 8: 40.7% Round 9: 41.1% Round 10: 39.1% ... You'll notice it converges to...

D&D 4E Anyone know if KQ is going 4e?

Donating to Wrath of the River King is putting money where my mouth is. Buying a 3e magazine is putting money where someone else's mouth is. That said, Wolfgang's 3e project got funded faster than River King did, so I can hardly fault him for sticking with 3rd edition (and you likewise have a...

Discussions about writing in '4e compatable' mode?

The quick and easy version is that copyright doesn't actually protect game rules, so as long as they stick to rules they're fine. The longer and more complicated version is that the way one determines what's rules and what isn't is for the potentially infringed company (WotC, in this case) to...

    Simple RPGA Question.

What do you mean by "didn't work"? The worst that can be said is that the Polyhedron contents didn't especially appeal to Dungeon purchasers and vice versa. The stuff in Polyhedron was usually top-notch, and I'd have gladly paid for a "Best of Paizo Polyhedron" hardcover (though I'm less...

    Design and Development: Monsters

That's how the recharge mechanic works in 4e (albeit with a d6 instead). But a Dragon's breath weapon in 3e could be used again in 1d4 rounds--That is, roll a d4, and it's available that many rounds later. Thus the 25-33-50-100 thing. Using that system, a dragon's chance of breathing on any...

    Warlock - Dragon Pact

I've mostly just run first level games, so I'll confine my observations to those powers: Your powers are all Con or Cha to attack and damage. That's a bit overpowered. The Fey powers are all Cha only, the Infernal powers are all Con only, and the Star powers are all either one or the other...

I'm math deficient... help me please?

Though it's probably easier to just fudge the numbers and say that each square = 100 ft. Rough-but-round estimates usually work better in rpgs.

Help me with my Adventuring COmpany Charter

Whether or not it's a valid strategy (and what exactly 'valid' means), is rather beside the point. The problem is that it's an ineffective strategy. A rogue can stay in the back and throw daggers because he's got powers and class features that make it an effective tactic. Your paladin can...

Solo Monsters and the Risk of Boredom

Having run a white dragon fight several different times, I'm of the impression that: A)The White dragon doesn't actually have enough cool attacks to deserve Solo status--He either attacks a single character, or (every so often) uses his breath weapon. Contrast that to the stronger dragons that...
