    Kickstarter moving to blockchain

Yeah, I think I'm remembering now. Thanks for correcting me. :)

    Kickstarter moving to blockchain

Doesn't blockchain eat up significant electrical power? I know something related to cryptocurrency is a significant power drain, and that's the last thing we need when trying to reduce greenhouse gasses. Might get me to completely swear off kickstarting.

D&D 5E (2014) How do you rule on NPC-to-PC social interactions?

My feeling is that it's okay for a GM to roll social skill checks, but players still get to interpret what a result means. I trust players not to completely circumvent a result without a discussion (barring the possibility that I've crossed a line requiring the X-card), and players trust me not...

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

Snakefolk without legs. It's okay if they're more yuan-ti, just stop requiring my snakes to have legs.

    Too much prose in RPGs?

    Complete agreement.

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

Some of us can play them always in animal form. Some can play them always in human form. Everyone wins!

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

Except reality doesn't come with an Ignore function. 😞

    D&D 5E (2014) How crunchy is D&D 5E

I'm going to go with "Not crunchy enough", i.e. maybe about 5.

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

I have been operating under the opposite assumption. Yeah, that.

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

I don't understand the question: what does it matter what name I use?

D&D 5E (2014) What new linages do you want?

    Hyena-people. Or sapient hyenas.

D&D General What does "magic" mean? [Read carefully, you can't change your vote]

Magic is whatever I say it is because I often apply it to things without regard to the logical consequences.

    D&D 5E (2014) Favorite Unusual Races/Lineages

Gnolls and Minotaurs. Minotaurs because I got really into a minotaur character a long time ago. Gnolls because.......I don't know. Maybe because I identify a lot with the fictional beings a property tries to make you hate the most.

D&D 3.x What was the original intended function of the 3rd edition phb classes?

When I first read about it, I thought it sounded like they thought it was a fun idea and that people would enjoy figuring out what was good and what shouldn't ever be used. Makes much more sense if he meant "in different circumstances".

D&D General Psionics versus Spellcasting: A Deep-Dive into the Lore Separation Between the Two, and the Rivalry Between Them

Occult magic in Pathfinder is based just as much on late 19th/early 20th century spiritualism and pre-split scifi/fantasy as late 20th century ideas of "science mind power".

Kalymba, Tormenta and regional gaming going international

Backers just heard back, and the team acknowledges they didn't advertise well and are promising to do another Kickstarter with a lower goal. They also say the entire team has been having problems, such as all but one getting COVID.

D&D General Psionics versus Spellcasting: A Deep-Dive into the Lore Separation Between the Two, and the Rivalry Between Them

Science-fiction made me tired of treating psionics/psychic powers as if they weren't magic: somehow these impossible powers were okay, but outright magic was not. Thus, in my settings, they are the same power. In fact, I prefer psionics' "you don't need to speak or gesture" aspect: D&D just...
