Paladin is more of a striker?

I don't think this is enything wrong with the pally, but rather a dimostration of the range of several possible tactics different classes will have at their disposal with the new mechanics As we allready had exemples regarding other powers, odds are Divine Challenge is going to scale up once...

    D&D 4E Piracy and 4e

I totally agree. In the end I do think piracy is actually good for a lot of markets, especially when talking about big companies' products. What piracy do hurt is the small companies efforts to enter a market (think about an indie music label, ie), not the really big moneymakers. The problem...

Will CON become a dump stat?

Well, this will depend a lot on the player side. Basicly 4E math is telling you, chose your class (determines your primary skill), chose your class' preferred build (determines your other primary skill). Every class has at least another skill wich is somewhat important to it. Interestingly, it...

Is the 15 minute adventuring day now the 90 minute adventuring day?

yup, I got it wrong. You gain 1 AP every 2 encounters (not one), and you don't regain one surges during a short rest (that's funny, I actually remember I read this somewhere). Anyway, I do think the changes are for the better. Or at least this is what I can tell from the previews so far. All of...

Is the 15 minute adventuring day now the 90 minute adventuring day?

As far as I can tell from the info about the pregens, I don't see the 90min day in the same regard as 3e 15 min day. Even if we can't say that much without knowing more about the full class powers progression through levels, I'd say FOA it is mainly a DM attitude to avoid that sort of problem...

Points of Light - Help me make sense ?

I don't see PoL as a great issue. You can think at it like low mid age europe. Maybe communities start rising in the most comfortable corners of the land, near rivers, lakes, the sea, where the soil makes harvesting or farming easier, near valuable resources, on hills or other locations that...

    Damage vs HP Scaling

I think that power's damage is going to scale smoothly while you level. Not only 10th lvl Powers > 1st lvl Powers, but 1st lvl Power used by a 10th lvl Character > 1st lvl Power used by a 1th lvl Character. I'm not talking about the 1/2lvl modifier, but rather the Powers dealing more damage...

Compiled Conditions List - UPDATED, REFORMATTED

Also Action Points - By using an action point you can take an additional action (minor, move or standard, at your choice) on your turn. You can use only 1 AP per encounter. You gain an additional AP after beating every encounter. Taking a full rest reset your AP to 1. AoO and Reach - Reach no...

So Int does NOT add to skills

Even if it's not crystal clear, we have strong hints to figure it out. Dragon's Sneak Attack Article casts a lot of light on the matter. *Every class will have different build options (2 it seams), wich determines your overall playstyle and what ability scores will by moer important to you...

    Psionics

Sorry but, WotC is enforcing class roles into the party, so odds are classes in the same role will look very similar, flavored by hers own style and powers, of course. I think psions will be a lot more interesting in 4E. Just consider the designers purpusely left out many illusion/mind related...

    D&D 4E Verisimilitude IMPROVEMENTS in 4e

First of all, I'd like to say anyone should stop using "D&D was never for Verisimilitude". this is really a poor argument, and a very wrong one too. You could say that D&D never trully pushed for deep simulation, wich is something really different, and you can argue that D&D always had it's...

    D&D 4E AICN Massawyrm's 4E Review - Part 3

I'm not saying in anyway you have to use grid/minis to play the game, you can sure play the old pen & paper way, but doing so will make it an hella much harder. I have a lot of reasons to say so D&D 1e, AD&D were just perfect without a grid. in 3.x is still fine, but grids are really usefull...

    Multiclassing Moritorium

3E multiclassing is definitelly gone. You multiclass by choosing training feats. "Wizard training feat" "Rogue training feat" and so on. The pregen half-elf warlock actually lists a wizard spell among her at-will powers. although someone suggested it could be due to a racial trait, I'm most...

    D&D 4E AICN Massawyrm's 4E Review - Part 3

if you're going to play 4E, you'll definitelly need to use a grid with minis (or tokens, or whathever). Tactical movement, powers pushing foes around the area, traps, hazards and different terrain tiles. I really doubt you will be able to play the game easilly without the aid of a grid. As for...

    Insight's D&DXP Blog

you can read the full article here I guess DM are likely to be a bit confused about the rules, sinnce this could be first time with 4E for them too (well, at least some of them). BTW thanks for the whole lot of info Insight ^_^

    Stat Block Envy

Nope, I do think the 4E way will make encounters handling a lot more easy. *D&D 3E. Try, building a CR 26 encounter (and take note of how much time you will need and the math you will have to deal with). Keep at hand all the rules for regarding skills, feats, abilities, spells for the creatures...

    My take.

gosh, we're getting to pretty useless thoughts here... Just say this, for a good RPG game you only trully need a good GM and some good Players, it's just that, really.

D&D eXPerience: Core Mechanics (now compiled in 1st post!)

oh, it's ok then, I was instead talking about the warlock's "wizard training feat" wich is not on the warlock's sheet (but she actually gets a wizard spell among her powers), so we just were talking about two different sheets
