What level, class and alignment are you?

Sorry, Double post. So much for the Smart levels.

What level, class and alignment are you?

I have a level or two of Smart Hero and a level or two of Charismatic Hero. Perhaps I managed to slip a level of Fast Hero in there somewhere during my late teens and early twenties. Not sure about that one though. Anyone that kills me and takes my stuff is not only in for a hard time...

If animals could talk, which kind would be gamers?

I don't really know what animals would make good rpg gamers, but I had an immediate mental image of a group of rhinos sitting around talking about fantasy football.

Core Religion Survivor - Round Thirteen

Moradin is tenacious!!! You gotta love the Dwarven stubborness.

What do you think about magic item creation times?

I play a Battlesmith in one of my games. The amount of time it takes to craft a magic item doesn't cheese me off nearly as much as the time it takes to make a non-magic item. When making non-magical items it is calculated using copper pieces per day. Using CPS/day or SPS/week it takes...

Core Religion Survivor - Round Twelve

The Soulforger survives yet another round! Yeah! Olidamara has to go next. The god of skeevy.

How dungeons have changed in Dungeons and Dragons

I feel pretty silly about this now but...The Assassins Knot was an absolute ground breaking adventure for me. I was pretty young and had only done dungeon crawls before. I played through the adventure and was amazed that you could have adventures that were above ground.

The Elfish Gene - Another attack on gamers

As someone said earlier(edit: that someone is Ozmar), the book sounds about as funny as "Mazes and Monsters". As for me, I know more about how to kill dragons than I know about coventry. I didn't know that dudes could be nuns!

Eric Noah, post in this thread. Everyone else stay out.

You walk into a room. Eric Noah has a pie. You want pie. What do you do?

    Playing without a tank

It is best if the DM is able to tailor the encounters to your strengths. If not, the tank is, by far, the easiest NPC to hire out. Just go to town and find a man-at-arms or two.

are u guys killing farm animals?

I used a deep gnome character once. He was fun to play because he was so completely clueless on how the surface world worked. He had a hard time differentiating between "monster" and "not monster". Many a domestic farm animal died because of him.

AC 56 at level 6! You too can do it!

Getting your AC above 56 is EASY! Yeah I know they don't all stack. I was just being a little flippant and snarky. If you are getting an AC of 56 as a sixth level character your DM is letting you get away with some nasty stuff. All depends on how competent your DM is. If the DM is not...

AC 56 at level 6! You too can do it!

How permissive is this guys DM? With a permissive DM I can get MUCH higher than AC 56! Polymorph into a gold dragon while wearing bracers of armor +8 AND full plate +5 and a shiled +5 AND and dancing shield +5 with barkskin and magical vestment and the +8 dex bonus I have after reading the...

    Attack the orphanage!

That is funny. Even if the PC's get out of this one alive their reputations are going to take a severe hit.

    Stupidest things PCs/DMs have done

Although this might not qualify as the stupidest character deaths it involved a stupid decision caused by desperation (along with some really bad dice rolling). This past gaming session the group saw a lone orc leaning out of a dungeon door, then upon seeing us PC's ducks back into the room...

    Core Religion Survivor, Round Two

I vote Yondolla. Not that I dislike her or anything, but she just seems to be a hold-out from an earlier version of D&D halflings. 3.5 changed the core halfling to a primarily neutral wandering nomad and did not update the god of the halflings to reflect the changes they had made to the...

New "What sort of RPG player are you?" poll (this one by Charles Ryan)

Power Gamer 75% Tactician 70% Character Player 65% Storyteller 50% Casual Gamer 40% Weekend Warrior 25% Specialist 10% Hmmm, powergamer and tactician have switched spots since last time I took this quiz. Looks about right though.

    Stupidest things PCs/DMs have done

Dumbest thing I can think of right now is something I am doing with my current PC. I created a rogue and I rolled a six for my wisdom. I am going through the Worlds Largest Dungeon with this character. There are a lot of traps in it, and most are pretty obvious. My character has a 16...

    RANT: Attacks of Opportunity

AoO's don't slow the game down much. Just a swing and a hit (or miss). What slows the game down more is the raging Barbarian with 3 attacks that round, power attacking for 7, with a two-handed flaming burst weapon leap attacking. "Anybody got a calculator?"

    RANT: Attacks of Opportunity

Hey, I like AoO's. Adds another element of strategy into the game. Most peope should find them to be intuitive. Let your guard down or enter within the reach of an ogre's greatclub, you get smashed. A newcomer to our group had serious problems understanding the concept of AoO's for...
