    Homebrew Base Classes

copied and pasted from the SRD. Should read "warrior", not "fighter". I wouldn't say all the classes are more powerful than core classes. For example, I think that the rogue is more powerful than the wanderer and the ranger is more powerful than the woodsman.

    Homebrew Base Classes

I'm interested in knowing peoples' opinions on how these classes balance against the core classes, but more importantly how they balance against each other.

    Homebrew Base Classes

To answer a few questions... Yep, the warrior is powerful. More powerful, in fact, than the fighter. The bonus feats are a little misleading, however, because the warrior doesn't automatically gain heavy armor proficiency. So, really, the warrior gains +2 bonus feats and has +2 skill...

    Changing the high-level fighter

That makes no sense at all....and completely defeats the purpose of prestige classes.. You want fighters to be powerful at high levels? Give them some high level feats. Feats that give huge bonuses to saves, initiative, damage.

    SR vs. Slaying Arrow

But the effect of the flaming enhancement is to deal fire damage to the target, just as the effect of the slaying arrow is to slay the target. The spell is still cast onto the arrow, not the target.

how do i create a purty table?

You know...for classes, prc's and such?
  14. D

    Homebrew Base Classes

Yes, I shall once I figure out how to create those tables that keep everything nice and tidy... One other thing... these classes may or may not be balanced with the core classes. My intent is to balance them against each other, not against the core classes.

Below are the homebrew classes I use in my campaign, replacing the PHB base classes. I haven't fully figured out class skills, but most everything else is in proper order. The Classes Adept Archer Noble Knight Rider Wanderer Warrior Woodsman

    It's Official! D&D characters are fantasy-world suerheroes :)

I'm not really interested in hearing a cop-out method of getting the party to work together... I was hoping for an answer that WASN'T a cop-out. Basically, the author is saying "this is a really stupid way of doing it, but it works". Sure it works...but it's stupid!

    In lieu of prestige classes...

I believe your idea of prestige feats is in many ways more in line with the original intent of 3ed D&D's base classes. I remember when WoTC was first describing the "new" classes as being extremely customizable, that you could create any kind of character using the base classes alone...

    9th Level Spell Foresight: Useless?

The problem with Foresight in 3.x D&D is that everything must be written in "D&D legalese", specifiying the exact effects that the spell creates. Now, I'm not arguing whether this is good or bad, only that Foresight's flavor text does not specify effects in accordance with the "legalese". To...
