Daggerspell Mage special ability Invokation of the knife.

Still toying vaguely with the daggerspell mage prestige class (anything is better than revision! ;) ) Second level ability Invocation of the knife, looks pretty funky and flavourful. I'm not sure how much of what it i'm allowed to post (don't want to be a bad snowy :) ). Can turn half energy...

    George R.R. Martin novel news

you know how eagerly I've been waiting for this!!! My sister and the people she lives with started lending the books out to everyone that visited them about 6 months ago, just so they had more people who understood why they were anxiously awaiting the next one :) p.s. anyone read/reading "age...

Ranger, Paladin, Hexblade ... Define your *own* spellcasting fighter concept

only vaguely related but undeserving of its own thread.... anyone tried a game without any full casters? I've read many times people discussing how full casters rule the roost at high levels, and I've seen it myself in the little I've played.

    Pricing Itimes with Initiative Bonus

possibly better to start at a dexterity boosting item? So gloves of dexterity +2 are priced at 4000 (bonus squared x 1000) and would give a +1 to initiative. gloves of dex +3 at 9000 and give (hmmmmm, not so useful) gloves of dex +4 at 16000 and give +2 maybe start with (init bonus x 2) x...

    I command you to glorg.

no ones brought up the command "autodefenestrate" yet? and the corresponding story when a player used it too many times and a cunning DM had the response from a thick troll going "Huh, wonder what that means?" *SMASH* On a more productive note I would argue that you trying to attach a meaning...

    OD&D Errata for OD&D 1974 Edition

but surely if he used the errata it wouldn't be the true original version??

Traps and Locks without (too much) rogue

Multiclass rogue cleric or rogue wizard theres prestige classes for both in complete adventurer, the rogue cleric would be able to melee, well enough. I think theres a rogue paladin feat and prestige class that sounds interesting to me but probably need DM approval and help with backstory...

High level charecters in battle: the Air Power analogy

If you've got a high level druid, they don'y even need to be flying, with control weather being a 3 mile radius you can have most of the enemy army dead of exposure/lightning/drowning in flash floods before they can even get near enough to see you. The point about the limitations of teh...

Piratecat's Updated Story Hour! (update 4/03 and 4/06)

yet another appreciative lurker. piratecats UPDATED Storyhour. The names becoming a little untrue. Please continue the goodness, so I can see how good high level games run. (any suggestions for some other 3.5 high level storyhours would be nice from the rest of you guys, just to fill the...

    Anyone played a Hexblade?

on the dealing damage front seems to be a good class for spell then follow up with a melee attack, its actually more liek how I think a cleric should be, having to use a combination of spells and combat to win fights (instead of being amazingly powerful at both :)) tashas hideous laughter power...

    9th Level Spell Foresight: Useless?

think the bit people are discussing is the bit concerning what best course of action or however its phrased actually means. As in a warning a round in advance or two or three minutes or as you cast it and how much information you should get and what format it should be in. but yes with any good...

    Anyone played a Hexblade?

theres one in the campaign I'm DMing, the curse is a little clunky, I think save for half would work, I may even give her that :) sounds like a special reward from thier favourite loremaster ;) . The spell selection is nice and they still seem to be able to beat things up good with those...

Where's Reactive Counterspell, and any other counterspell feats/comments.

Was pondering an idea for a character, haven't got a game for him to go in, just more fun that typing up my project :). Was thinking about using complete adventurer and making a spellthief but they're a bit too specialised and not too tricky to build (Still sounds fun but i'll just roll it up...

    Wishin' is fo' suckahs...

when I have some one powerful enough to cast wish I think I'll listen to what they say then come up with a good and reasonable attempt to fulfill it in line with the power of the level of the spell and the XP cost. If I really feel the need to create a bizarre circumstance to kill them or...

    Help with 17. level Wizard

I'm not too sure how other people see it but this seems to be loadind too much onto intelligence, wisdom is the perception stat, the epic intelligence wizard can remember dictionaries and thearaurus', he can perform 4 dimensional calculus in his head and exactingly memorise the words and...

    Meta-Gaming: Definition

meta gaming is using ooc knowledge to make ic decisions. its not necessarily bad. Designing a character is metagaming (you can argue), you look at what feats and classes etc there are and the characters choice of his next training (level) gets decided. Metagaming - often confused with...

    Wounding weapon(s)

though wounding is a pretty vicious property anyway for a weapon. I cant remember what it exactly says, i assume it wont work for shuriken either? That build that gets 13 or something attacks a round would work nicely with wounding shuriken!! (so I assume it doesn't) oooh! what about daggers...

    What level to start at....

level 2 or 3 seem nice so people can multiclass if they want, level ones nice so you get a more evolved feel (but much easily available death on a stick), level 4 or 5 puts you above the average schmoes (gaurds and soldiers are level 1,2,3 fighters/barabrians/rogues no warriors here, (hee hee...
