When Players don't respect the DM's rules - Help!

He mentions the discussion on ENWorld. Could it be that he took offense that you took it outside the gaming group?

    Sexuality in your games.

Homosexuality is not a big topic in my campaigns. Well it´s not such a topic over here anyways. Most NPCs the party interacts with don´t try to get engaged with them. Sexuality plays a role but it´s nearly nonexistant topic for some characters/players who are not into romantic roleplay. The...

    what races in your fantasy?

The times i played D&D I remeber most people playing humans in humanocentric settings. Our AE campaign has quite a lot of faen but that´s because we work for a faen kingdom as spies in our setting. In my homebrew system most people play or played a wild mix of races. Ok , most of them are of...

    Paladins - likes and dislikes?

It´s probably because the standard answer that some paladins use when they detect an evil person is a good traditional smite.

Should the Paladin pay for Evil Magic Items he wants / has destroyed?

Even if secular law and religious law are divided rom each other in your setting what do you think the local authorities will say when you, a wandering mercenary in their eyes, complain to them about the paladin who wanted to destroy unholy and evil weapons instead of selling them for profit...

Cleric: Social Outcast or Village Priest?

If I understood correctly he wanted the same religion and a few clerics outside the main branch who are clerics, perhaps by following more mystical teachings. As for why the mainstream priests don´t follow simply the clerical branch? It could be that the deity doesn´t accept everyone or you...

Cleric: Social Outcast or Village Priest?

There are some examples of persecution of the more mystic branches of a religion by the established religous authorities but that would probably go too far into RL politics to elaborate. The miracles can be ridiculed, the established religion could accuse the clerics to be heretics who traffic...

    Help me Level-up my Warlock!

I agree. A spellcaster as main frontline seems to be an invitation for disaster. One of the rogues seems to be a more natural choice for this position. how many combats do you have anyways. Your group composition doesn´t look like heavy combat anyways.

    Annoying Elves

Some people seem to miss the opener´s second post where he admits that the other party members started insulting the elf before calling him incompetent and questioning his sexual preferences.

    Is Vow of Poverty broken?

The divine focus is the holy symbol of your faith, right? I am not so familiar with eastern religions but western monastic orders who took vows of poverty were allowed to wear a cross. No St.Franciscus, you may not carry around this wooden cross amulet because of your vow. Yeah I know D&D is...

    Creative Exercise--Aleasana

This mystic often meets with other unknown people in the nights of the new moon. No member of the Scarves knows what they discuss or the identity of these people.

What have you done to REALLY make your players hate an NPC?

I remember one scene as a player when the group tried to interrogate a baddie. He managed that all people except one left the room and even got peas during the interrogation. When all left he used a charm person stored in a ring. We forgot to check him for such things. The Pc rolled badly...

What have you done to REALLY make your players hate an NPC?

Toying with them or betrayal works wonders. I think the most hated villain in my campaign is Rimal Seravis. He was actually not set up as a major villain but as an info source He was involved in affair, that killed a major minister. My players were blamed for this and they wanted to milk him...
