D&D 5E (2014) It takes too long to say "Combat Superiority"

Yeah, that was a Dragon Fist thing (latter day 2nd Ed variant by Chis Pramas).

    D&D 4E 4e Monster Design

I have found removing the 1/2 level bonus from all character's and monster's attacks, defences and skills, plus reducing monster HPs really helps.

D&D 5E (2014) Full classes and Half classes

Ha, exactly, when I first saw this thread title I almost read Full asses and Half asses, classic. I like the proposal, a nifty little multiclass table, and it sounds like PrCs will work in a similar way.

    AD&D 1st edition and 2nd edition differences?

Basically this, 1st Ed drips with vibe like no edition since; what 2nd Ed brought to the table for me was campaign settings, truly the golden age (Al-Qadim, Dark Sun, Planescape, Ravenloft, Spelljammer). The 1st Ed Deities & Demigods is still my favourite D&D book of all time, that Melnibonean...

    AD&D 1st edition and 2nd edition differences?

Total, the 1st Ed Ranger has a certain panache, I mean, being able to blap something with a magic missile is pretty cool, and the Giant class damage bonus rocks. 2nd Ed was the beginning of the Drizztifying of the Ranger.

    AD&D 1st edition and 2nd edition differences?

Yep, a lame backlash to MADD (Mothers Against Dungeons & Dragons).

D&D 5E (2014) If an option is presented, it needs to be good enough to take.

Zen Archery is a sweet feat. They mention feats and other things in the playtest packet might change what ability score you use for attacks.

    D&D 5E (2014) *Finally* read playtest 2 - 2d10 time!

Totally cool way to go, there was also a roll 3d6 instead of d20 variant in the 3rd Ed Unearthed Arcana. I like the wild swing of the d20, and the way if feels to roll (everyone loves that feeling when you see that 20 come up).

D&D 5E (2014) What should the skill list look like?

I would like them to trim the Lore skills, almost going into Pottery Lore territory.

    D&D 4E AD&D to 4e to 5e

Though, I do find it rather easy to drop in 1st Ed stuff without too much hassle.

    D&D 4E 4e/5e hybrid...

Keep going, sounds great, 5th Ed is like 1st Ed (so far...) without the crap.

    D&D 5E (2014) Feats, don't fail me now! - feat design in 5e

I'm not sure about Feats, one of the many problems that 3rd Ed caused. ...not to say 4th Ed was the solution, talk about swatting a fly with a Buick.

D&D 5E (2014) Monsters taking PC classes: I want it in Next.

In 3rd Ed you could be a Treant Monk and it rocked, I also slapped monk levels on an Illithid antagonist, that was badass (good synergy, unarmed strikes, tentacles, psionic attacks, brain sucking). Centaurs, bariaur and wemics make good cavaliers.

1st Edition Premium Unearthed Arcana Reprint

I don't agree, Dungeoneer's Survival Guide, Fiend Folio, Monster Manual 2, Wilderness Survival Guide, and my favourite D&D book of all time: Deities & Demigods (dig the Melnibonean chapter) all have fantastic, juicy, 1st Edition loveliness.

    D&D 5E (2014) Overcoming Bounded Accuracy

Who has done that? I'm all for some advancement/characters getting higher numbers, but the 3rd and 4th Ed system of having +39 and or what-have-you to attack seems excessive, marginalises the d20.

    D&D 5E (2014) How does 5e know what you're thinking? Psionics Mechanics..

Yes, I would like them straight out the gate, not tacked on. Sorcerers have taken power points (willpower points), so maybe the 5th Ed Psion should be a Sorcerer of Psionic Heritage.

    D&D 5E (2014) Overcoming Bounded Accuracy

Removing the 1/2 level bonus shenanigans from all character's and monster's Attacks, Defences and Skills really helped my 4th Ed campaign.

    D&D 5E (2014) Overcoming Bounded Accuracy

If the end result is the character needs to roll an 11 on a d20 to hit, does it matter if the bonus is +7 or +27? "...but...but this goes to eleven..."

D&D 5E (2014) Traditional or Historial Arms and Armor

    1) I disagree, but let's not get into LARP territory... 2) You took it incorrectly (not sideways!), I mean "...never give up, never surrender!"

    4th ED Questions

    1) Read Planes of Law, Planes of Chaos, and Planes of Opposition, heck, just read pre-4th Ed D&D lore. 2) That it is not at all what I said, read Planes of Law. 3) Of course you can.
