    What's The Best Monster Book?

Not me, I want a written description of each creature. And some peoples eyes aren't so good. The 4th Ed MMs are dry (though some great mechanical goodies), there's really no comparison.

    What's The Best Monster Book?

1st Ed Monster Manual, still the best (the cornerstone of AD&D). It transcends numbers into core lore of D&D (and the art and vibe, it just drips). Also, no silly number bloat: AC 43 and 6d12 + 21 damage and all that malarkey.

D&D 5E (2014) How should the Sorcerer look when he (or she) comes back?

I have never seen or felt a need for a sorcerer class (just a synonym for wizard), and certainly not that Dragonborn Fighter/Wizard aberration in that playtest packet. ...what the hell was that? But if there is to be a Sorcerer, the bloodline thing could be a cool way to go, but I do not want...

D&D 5E (2014) Flat math ability scores vs roleplay considerations

The 1st level halfling fighter that's as strong as a hill giant messes with my head.

So that's it for 4th edition I guess?

I have played and enjoyed 4th Ed, but it has a bit of a New Coke deal about it. And as others have said, there's enough 4th Ed material out there for lifetimes of gaming.

    D&D 3.x 3.5E magic item compendium

This and The Spell Compendium were 2 of the books I didn't pick up the first time around, and I will be giving them a miss this time too! But I am loving that they're doing these reprints.

    Must have book per edition

My all time favourite book is teh 1st Ed Deities & Demigods, love the Jeff Dee art, and that Melnibonean chapter is what really sucked me into D&D. -Basic Rulebook (Moldvay), is what I think is the ultimate core/essential D&D book. -1st Ed: MM -2nd Ed: PHB (but I think the 1st Ed ranger is...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dissapointed with Attunement

Funnily enough they mention the Druid, Paladin and Sorcerer (?) in the Magic Item doc. I also totally agree with the rest of your post.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dissapointed with Attunement

I completely disagree, they have never been integral to the D&D game (playing since 1986), IME, I have run campaigns with zero magic items, X-Mas tree characters, and everything in between. I'll agree that they are "more core" than the sorcerer (as that's a Jonny-Come-Lately class).

    D&D 5E (2014) Legends and Lore October 22nd

I like both the 1st and 2nd Ed Bard, the 1st Ed was a sort of fighter/rogue/druid, and the 2nd Ed was sort of like a rogue/wizard, both had that jack-of-all-trades vibe, but you didn't necessarily have to perform music, my 2nd Ed Al-Qadim Bard (Rawun kit) used Oratory as his deal, he would tell...

    D&D 5E (2014) Great news on Skills

And the pinnacle would have +12, so, a 25 DC is still a challenge, sounds good to me.

    D&D 5E (2014) Too many knowledge skills.

Well it looks like skills are going to seriously change, not tied to specific ability scores, and maybe narrower.

    D&D 5E (2014) A Compromise on Hit Points

Similar to the 1st playtest packet, roll HD or take Con modifier. So with 5th Ed we already have two HP systems right there (and as people have shown, so many variants).

    Al-Qadim Collector's Guide

Really, that's the one 2nd Ed complete book I don't have, and I'm a huge Al-Qadim fan, damn!

    D&D 5E (2014) Monster to-hit still seems borked.

I generally feel the same way, a creatures's AC should be determined by Dex and armour (natural or worn).

    D&D 5E (2014) A Compromise on Hit Points

I'm for low default HP, but definitely want optional generation methods, double HD at 1st level (like the 1st Ed monk and ranger), or something like 4th Ed (Con score +), HP are an easy area of the game to tweak.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dissapointed with Attunement

Not in any of the campaigns I DM, in any edition, all magic items are special (give or take).

    D&D 5E (2014) Frustrated with Next

Yes, same here; and I find 5th Ed the most conversion-friendly version to date.
