Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Woukd you let a mouse droid vote though? There's not enough information on scree to make that distinction. Some droids have self preservation. Is that sapient or programing though? They can mimic humans up to a point . Their programming allows that. I'm arguing that a Droid would need...

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Yeah clones are essentially meat droids. ANH though we see drouds being sold. Labor droids, walking batteries etc. Mouse droids as well. It's really only the side kick droids that are the exceptions. And the Solo movie one. That's maybe 5 droids of which 3 are astromechs. And C3-PO it's...

D&D General Ad Hoc, Rail Road, Sandbox?

Yeah that's kinda how I do it. I ran the witch light carnival redone as carnival of souls.

D&D General Ad Hoc, Rail Road, Sandbox?

Players get a curated list of around 5 options if I'm not pitching something specific.

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Pretty much. We do see some droids onscreen that may have free will. I'm just not cherrypicking them as we see a lot more that don't.

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Yeah on screen they don't go into much detail though. Eg restraining bolts or memory wipe. A handful of droids might have free will (short list for me is 3). Most do not however even on screen. B2s will basically kamikaze themselves because programming.

D&D General Ad Hoc, Rail Road, Sandbox?

Generally i woukd regard may DM style as beer and pretzels ad hoc sandbox. By that it's more casual and I do a light sandbox. Players have a lot of agency. It's not unlimited though. DM has to have fun as well. I always consult the players on the sand box they want to play in however...

Basic Fantasy - Anybody here regularly play it? Why yes, why not?

Bought a real copy for $5 years ago. Amazon did free postage so yeah. It's early OSR. I like it a lot but it's a bit to basic. I would rather DM basic globes over modern D&D but finding players is that much harder. B/X is better than AD&D imho but probably needs to evolve a bit to appeal...

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Some droids. Most are not. Legends did explain that droid torture. The model responsible was flawed. They made a model with sadistic tendencies. Disney hasn't gone into enough detail afaik with how restraining bolts, memory wipes and independent droids work. Everyone's either making up...

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

You don't know that. Obey your master might take priority over don't impersonate a deity. It's not something C3P0 did under his own initiative. Ergo he doesn't have true free will. Using my can a Droid be trusted to vote metric either way he is a no. B2 have to be reprogrammed in...

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

C3PO didn't break his programming though. Luke made him float around. We don't know that about programming gem. In legends yes they were programmed like that. Or side effect if not deliberate. I don't think Disney's gone into enough detail.

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Not really. You're conflating humans making decisions you don't like with droids who literally cant. We also see C3P0 can't impersonate a deity for example. We also don't know if the erratic droids like Artoo have free will or are programmed that way. Or are malfunctioning. Even in...

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Some droids can make that choice maybe. Most probably can't. Disney hasn't done a deep dive into it onscreen at least.

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Ultimately they still made tgat choice. Droids can't make that choice if they're programmed not to.

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Seems to depend on the droid. C3PO can't break his programming. Andor reprogram an imperial Droid. By default you couldn't have droids vote. They're not independent. There may be some exceptions. One in Solo movie, maybe Artoo maybe Guri (legends). Reprogrammed droid is the illusion...

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

You're basically saying they don't vote the way you want. I'm saying a Droid couldn't vote the way you want if it's programming forbids it. Big difference. Clever machine vs sentience. That's where I personally draw the line.

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

Has she been programmed that way though?

Spoilers Star Wars: Andor season 2

I think free will is kind of true sentience. Basically could you trust a Droid to vote independently? C3P0 can't break his programming (RotJ Endor). He's a clever machine. Pretty much all of them are. Artoo might be a rare exception. Imagine. The senate would like to thank Palpatine...

    D&D 5E (2024) Best skill monky build?

Old one was a half elf, rogue, bard mix iirc. Knowledge domain cleric. Proficient in every skill uses EB, hex, Agonizing Blast. Ancient secrets warlock probably the new one with Rogue. Rogue 1 gets 6 skills skilled feat X2 is another 6. Leaves 4 skills iirc to pick up. Foundation is...
