D&D 5E (2014) Ok I have to ask..... what's with the Paladin hate on here?

I don't hate paladins. Please ignore my +20 Profane Greatsword of Paladin Slaying. It's purely decorative.

    Morrus' New Years' RPG Resolutions

The following: Argue less online about RPGs. Get in more 5E games. Play Starfinder more. Play Pathfinder more. Play an actual WOIN game. Post game reviews. People offline tell me I'm funny when I review games.

A wnewch chi roi'r gorau i gynnau cyn i chi ddigofaint y duw deinosoriaid? I used Google Translate for that, so I probably just said I like dancing on tables and have an angry dinosaur in my pants.

You're right. I was confusing it with Starjammer. Good point XD

D&D 5E (2014) Likelihood of getting an Isle of Dread remake or a full Feywild/Shadowfell campaign guide?

It's possible, but if such a product is released, you can bet it'll be part of a campaign path. Something people are far more likely to use, like how Chult is more heavily detailed in Tomb of Annihilation.

Because it would be too easily confused with Harry Potter or Indiana Jones?

    Han Solo movie incoming....

We know the ship image is a fake, from a link posted earlier; it's not the Millennium Falcon. Plus, I doubt they're that modular. Spaceships, especially freighters, need to be pretty sturdy.

    Han Solo movie incoming....

They would basically have to destroy and rebuild the entire front end of the ship to get it to match. That's less "a lot of damage" and more "beyond totaled."

Does WotC hold the copyright for Spelljammer? I know the setting was recently released for Starfinder.

    D&D 5E (2014) Flying Races: Limiting Flight

The siege weapons one is a lot less entertaining than it seems. Catapult + feather fall is a standard go-to. If you have a ballista, tying a rope around the halfling, gnome, or elf and then tying them to the bolt before firing is another one; just make certain you have enough rope. Now, if you...

D&D 5E (2014) How to Handle Characters That Can't Speak Language of Friendly Humanoids

Miming, gestures, drawing pictures and maps, setting someone on fire, pantomime, over-exaggerated acting... There are lots of ways to communicate with people who don't share a language, depending on what you're trying to say. If all else fails, remember: while not everyone may understand...

    D&D 5E (2014) Flying Races: Limiting Flight

If by "unlimited resources" you mean "you allowed them to do anything except pick from the starter builds in the PHB," then sure. You have a point. However, to make a flying gate work at level 1 until they hit level 5, you need to restrict their access to flying animals and creatures of all...

    D&D Movie/TV New D&D Movie: July 23rd 2021

Marvel got away with it by simply abusing the fact the Marvel setting is a multiverse and saying the Marvel movies are another universe from the comics. And, yeah. No matter what the movie will be, people will complain about it. The issue is how many. I mean, there are still DnD fans who...

    D&D 5E (2014) Faith and oaths

3E and Pathfinder both require paladins to be lawful good, but Pathfinder allows a lot of leeway in what that means; even the paladin oath by deity varies quite a bit. 5E doesn't seem to have that requirement. I think if it's showing up in 5E, it's mostly an artifact of prior editions.

    D&D 5E (2014) Flying Races: Limiting Flight

Good, old-fashioned grappling hook tied to a long-enough length of rope and a solid throw can circumvent that easily. About the only flying-required gating I can think of that can't be bypassed by a first level party with a bit of creativity are ones that are beyond what a creature like an...

    D&D 5E (2014) Drop your weapons situation

I have a similar experience with DnD. It never works as planned, and often never works at all. Proved a great way to kill off unimportant NPCs or cause a TPK, but taking hostage pretty much required going far outside the rules. I have had it work in other games, but those other games have far...

    D&D Movie/TV New D&D Movie: July 23rd 2021

Okay, moving beyond that... DnD is a niche hobby, pretty much. It would need to impress people a lot. And, well, when it comes to niche hobbies and niche franchises... Take a look at the 2016 Ghostbusters movie as an example of how that can very much work against us. Having your core fanbase...

    D&D 5E (2014) Skyrim supplement for D&D 5e

The C&D circles back to them using copyright law and not the ToS to enforce. Otherwise, we're in agreement.
