What would be an appropriate quest for atonement?

Like to get the boards creative ideas on this: My PCs just came across a roadside building as they journeyed from village A to city B. Failing to figure out that this was a roadside shine to the god of travelers, routes, and paths, the party rogue lifted a pair of golden sandals that had been...

    Non-combat encounters

Sure, of course. Usually the set-up was that the PCs didn't know if it was a bad guy or not, so they had to be cautious. Instance #1: The are hunting for someone they *think*, from other clues, may have killed their contact, but they can't be certain...only circumstantial evidence points to...

How Long to Hear Back about an Article Submission

Yup, it took me most of a year as well, with it going through 3 editors and 2 editions. Lessons learned: 1) Follow up with polite inquires if you hear nothing after 6 or 8 weeks 2) Don't tackle a 15,000 project right off the bat 3) Be kind to your editors--they're your friend! :)

    Fey - the little people

Hybsils and Quicklings! Eh, okay, I have strange taste in fey (but hybsil can be made into fine sausages!)

    Gah. Feh. Bleh. [Venting]

I had this problem a long time ago with one of my first groups of players -- one, and often two, of the players would frequently be missing for one reason or another. The best solution we had was to assign a "backup" to run a person's character if they were absent. And, knowing someone would...

[FULL] Recruiting players for new PBeM

Two slots are now filled (see above). Currently I have more than enough submissions for the finesse fighter role (Rogue/Fighter/Swashbuckler/Duelist), so if interested you'll want to avoid that type of character.

Old TSR writers. What happened to 'em?

I'm also curiouos where some of the regular Dungeon contributors are and what they are up to. I know Willie Walsh posts here...I wonder where Steve Kurtz is, he used to write some great adventures.

[FULL] Players needed for new PBeM

A sample of an in-game, in-character post. So 2-3 paragraphs of what one of your game posts would be like, though it doesn't necessarily have to be the character you want to play in the game.

[FULL] Recruiting players for new PBeM

King Rylnor of Markom is once again turning to you, his trusted aides, though this mission hardly seems worthy of your expertise with sword and spell. The King recently commissioned an exquisite silver and jade ring from the renowned (but rather unconventional and unreliable) artist Berli...

What is the original source for this awesome Lockwood painting?

Hmmm, the bald head, goggles, and Tony D. Planescape tattoo still make me think this is a Keeper (and Keepers had tattoos in the original PS Monstrous Compenium II), but you are right about the musculature and gadget. Perhaps some unholy keeper/gnome crossbreed?

What is the original source for this awesome Lockwood painting?

That's not a gnome with the crossbow bolt thrower, it is a Keeper, origanally from Planescape. You can tell by the goggles...plus Lockwood has paid homage to the great Tony DiTerlizzi with the blue tattoo, which Tony used extensively in his later Planescape work.

Dragons of Editions Past: Anyone ever use them?

I've got a mist dragon readied for a particular not-too-distant encouter in my current campaign. I also have a specific spot where mercury dragons live (have they been updated for 3e?) in my campaign world, but don't foresee anyone traveling there soon.
