I think it's time I laid out some stuff...

Re: Re: I think it's time I laid out some stuff... I agree. He should have said, "I am still just a lonely 22-year-old lingere model with a mild case of nymphomania and also a d20/3rd edition fan." Betcha he'd have gotten a lot more responses.

Something I have noticed about Storyhours...

I read the high-level ones for ideas on how to GM a high-level game. Sep, of course, is in a class by himself (no offense to other writers).

Yeah, I was clever enough to read the page after I posted. I like to think of my ignorance as an endearing quality.

    Some items

Yeah, you may want to name the boots after a Greek air goddess or something. I like the eyepiece though. It would fit in very nicely with my modern game.

This totally sucks for the Dragonstar setting though. The premise for interstellar travel was that you could 'port an unlimited range.

    The Ethics of Summoning

This is how I treat summonings. Callings are a different matter entirely. When you call a creature you get the real McCoy, the actual creature. And yes, reapeated callings will irritate the creature. Fortunately, the core rules say you have to negotiate with said creature before it will do...

    Some Ideas, if you please.

Dire/Awakened Snakes and Rats with the "fiend" template. If you have the Manual of the Planes you could also slap the "anarchic" template on them. That should give you some nice cannon fodder for the players to hack through while still invoking monsters they haven't seen before.

    World's worst D&D soundtrack

Any album by Cibo Mato, Japanese trance-rap that seems to focus largely on food. I'll put that against anything. But if you want something surreal, try Son Reinas: Japan's finest all-girl salsa band. Somewhere there is a module begging for this to be used as background, there just has to be.

    Query on ESDs from SVgames

They have a habit of breaking up big maps into standard sized paper chunks. This isn't necessarily good or bad, but it's nice to know before you buy a game with a big map insert.

    Best and Worst Settings?

Hmmm. A bit subjective. My favorite non-homebrew: Galantri from the oD&D "known world". It covered a full campaign starting your characters as lowly apprentices and having a nice transition to adventurers, nobles, archwizards, and ending with divine ascension. Nice. What I thought was...

WayneLigon, How do you feel about PDFs? To keep it on the topic of the thread, how do you feel about the artwork in PDFs? Worth it or no?

    why anti-art? (slightly ot ranrish)

Just a friendly FYI- In the one marketing study the hobby has had, 80% of all purchases were impulse buys (remember, EN World is a very small subset of RPGers). Almost all of those purchases were made based on the cover art. I know some people like to say "90% of all statistics are crap", but...

    why anti-art? (slightly ot ranrish)

Clay, I'm totaly with you. The fact is that a good drawing takes several hours and the artist also has to make money back on supplies and equipment that has gone into the production. People often use "common sense" to determine for themselves what this comes out to and they are typically...

    Fang of Loth

So... Left hand, right hand, left claw, right claw, bite? Great googly moogly, that's a heck of a lot of sneak attack damage!

    Fang of Loth

A 9th level Fang of Loth (from Sound and Silence) has two extra arms and a bite attack. I'm a tad confused about how many sneak attacks the character could deliver in one round.
