What would happen if all the Demon Lords and Devil Lords were killed?

I think I'm going to agree with the crowd, and say "Violent Succession" amongst both Demons and Devils (although this assumes getting rid of any named successors in the case of the Devil lords, as well, as Devils are inherently lawful), rather quickly leading back to the normal status quo... and...

    Question regarding "Worked stone"

Anything unspecified in RAW is DM call, but fundamentally, I think this is the intended guideline. Any stone where the DM thinks it would break his plot for it to be subject to the spell, is immune. Any rock where the DM thinks it would help his plot for it to be subject to the spell, is...

D&D 3.x 3.5e: Mage of the Arcane Order

Actually, the wording is "...the Spellpool can provide any other spell on the Wizard/Sorcerer spell list in the Player's Handbook, as well as any additional spells designated by the DM." (Complete Arcane, page 49, "THE SPELLPOOL" sidebar at the bottom of the page, "Spell Availability" section)...

D&D 3.x 3.5e: Mage of the Arcane Order

Yes, it's one extra feat... which is actually somewhat useful anyway, as it lets you make use of Quicken Spell. But yes, the class works a bit better for Wizards than it does for most spontaneous casters. It is, however, very very useful for most spontaneous casters.

    Darkvision + Arcane Eye?

Depends on the specific spell. In general, The Divination(Scrying) subschool says yes: However, certain spells, such as Clairaudience/Clairvoyance specify In the specific case of Arcane Eye, that clause is not present, and so True Seeing, Darkvision, Arcane Sight, and similar spells will...

Dominate Person - Sage Advise needed!

No... Obviously, the victim starts casting Polymorph Any Object (if available; seeking a source of the spell at highest possible efficiency if not... or maybe someone with Profession (Chef), or who could attempt a Craft(Sandwich) check would use sharp objects instead...) at the Dominate caster.

    Scrying with a Crystal Ball

And yet, in making it so one trap must be dispelled at the same instant that the rogue disables the other, you're setting it up so that in order for the rogue to do his job, he must have help from a fairly specific member of the party (there's only a relative handful of classes that can fill...

D&D 3.x Crafting costs minus provided materials (3.5)

Base Int 15 for NPC wizards. They still get their level up boosts, so 17. But yeah, you'll need to find one that actually spent ranks on Craft for whatever item you're looking for... or you'll need to find a way to boost the caster's check. A Cleric-9 with the Artifice domain is really your...

    Scrying with a Crystal Ball

Do you regularly set things up the other way around, such that a spellcaster strictly requires the aid of the rogue to deal with some obstacle? If not, you're running the cool idea by way of shifting spotlight time off the rogue towards the spellcaster. Edit: Besides: If there were such a...

D&D 3.x Crafting costs minus provided materials (3.5)

Generally speaking, if it's a craftable item (such as a Luck Blade), and you have a suitable base item (such as a +2 Shortsword), then yes, the Adding New Abilities clause lets you upgrade the base item to the improved item for the price difference (and crafting time). If you're upgrading it...

    Scrying with a Crystal Ball

I'm not familiar with it, no; what do you mean by great stuff?

    Scrying with a Crystal Ball

That's unnecessarily complex, as the rouge class feature says that the rogue can find traps before triggering them - which means that if the Search DC is too low for the method the rogue is using (taking ten or taking 20, usually, although some rogues do roll the dice), the rogue will find it...

    Scrying with a Crystal Ball

Yeah, it's a pretty sweet deal. No save, no SR, as it doesn't target anyone. The only downside with that is that it doesn't follow anyone, either. You can move it around pretty easily, and you see and hear as though you were there (minus anything that's not native to you - so that See...

    Scrying with a Crystal Ball

Which is preferable: Spending 3rd level spell slots for a ten minute casting time that lets you see xor hear an area within Long range for 1 minute/level, or a 24,000 gp item that lets you do both as a standard action at will for three minutes at a time with unlimited range?

    Scrying with a Crystal Ball

There's a clause in Scrying: . So you spend an hour with the Crystal Ball trying to pull up Mr. Rogue. You get him for ten minutes. You spend an hour with the Crystal Ball trying to pull up Mr. Rogue. DC is only 16, so this time he rolls high and makes it. So you spend an hour with the...

    Scrying with a Crystal Ball

Don't forget, however, a line from The Spellcraft Skill: So it's still identifiable, technically, via Spellcraft. As Scrying is usually a 4th level spell, and the duration on a Crystal Ball is only 1 minute/level (at caster level 10), for an hour-long activation time, there's going to be a...

Another "Magic breaks the economy" thread

Yes, you just need to pick a monster that's OK with being finely ground. Anything with Regeneration, really.

Another "Magic breaks the economy" thread

Read the fine print in the spell: Does it also alter the subject's equipment? That could be a rather big loss of loot... but if you want to break it, just buy Mules. They're 8 GP each, and are Large creatures with only 22 HP and a +6 Fort save. But yes, lots of ways to make money easily in...

Speed Enchant: Why is it a poor choice?

I just looked this one up: It seems to be from the 3.0 Enemies and Allies book, in a sidebar on page 20. Not all DM's like 3.0 material, sometimes with good reason.

Out of Combat Casting: Lower Level, More Power.

If done willy-nilly, yes. You see, the spells you generally cast out of combat are done because they meet one of the following criteria: 1) They have an immediate effect not particularly applicable to combat (e.g., Teleport, Cure spells, the assorted fix-it spells, Knock, Make Whole, et...
