    OotS #672 is up!

Gotta love the evolution thats taken place in all the characters in this book. It will be interesting to see how the funny is brought on with all the character changes. And good for Rich taking some time off. He deserves it.

    Writer announcing adventures release?

Thanks Morrus, I'll be sure to keep that tone in mind if I do start up a thread. Also thanks for starting that thread Mark. Interesting to see where that will go.

    EN Worlders Open Playtesting?

As the playtest of the adventure I wrote just began (And I'm pretty excited about it.) I don't have a great deal of insight in the whole matter. So I too am curious about how many people have participated in open-playtesting, on both sides of the people doing the playtesting/having your stuff...

    Writer announcing adventures release?

So . . . it depends. I'll elaborate. 6d6 fireball has just released its first adventure writing competition winning .pdf. (Of which I am the authour.) This adventure, the Sanctum of the Fiery Ladder, has just become available for free download as part of an open-playtest. I was thinking of...

    Writer announcing adventures release?

Would it be considered appropriate for a writer to announce the release of their adventure in the general forums? I don't think I've seen this done before. Is it convention for writers to not talk about their products until a fan brings it up? And yes the publisher (6d6fireball) has already...

[3.5] A Dark and Stormy Night

"This is a stroke of fortune. Clearly St Cuthbert is speeding our steps, have you ever taken a secret passage that did not lead somewhere of import?" Not waiting for the others, Dacen hands the torch to Normin boldly climbs down the rungs, and waits for the torch to be past down. "Come, let...

[Defunct] A Dark and Stormy Night

Been a while since I've check the in game thread my apologies. Been working on D&D articles for a magazine and for some reason seem to have slipped my mind to check the thread. anywho, Towards giant boy and dacen's comment - It would actually be pretty cool if the undead beggar started...

[3.5] A Dark and Stormy Night

Dacen grasps his mace lits the torch high and starts to pace a slow circle around the room. He says quietly, "I'd guess he would already done that if he could," and then goes back to scanning the shadows. Spot and listen (1d20+2=13, 1d20+2=15) Dacen HP: 12 Current: 12 Nonlethal: 8...

Tell me about your favorite game store

Wow, this I gotta see. If only I had a car I'd be tempted to jump in it and go right now. One of these days . . . Thanks a lot for the heads up on this one.

Tell me about your favorite game store

I sorry I just had to quote this whole thing. This is my favorite store, it was also my first real experience with a FLGS. Heck I say it is THE FLGS of Ottawa. OK I may be doing the Comic Book Shoppe a bit of an injustice here, but Fandom II is just fantastic. My only regret, I've never gamed...

Tell me about your favorite game store

I meant to comment on this whole thread a while ago, particularly as a Canadian (in Ontario). So forgive me as I 'catch up'. The Silver Snail, both the Ottawa and Toronto branches aren't much of a games store. They do always carry a good selection of the latest White Wolf and D&D (WotC) stuff...

    Hackmaster

Hmmm, this link doesn't work for me. I even registered in their forums and it now says that I don't have enough 'priviledge'. Ah well. I wonder if there are any interesting reviews up yet.

[3.5] A Dark and Stormy Night

Dacen reflexively grabs for his holy symbol at the sight of the skeleton, then when it seems to pose no threat, he slowly relaxes. He looks at the package Gordon is holding, and frowns, "Hmmmm, I wonder what it is?" He looks towards the undead beggar, "And why would he want us to find it?"

    I love AD&D

I too am completely enamoured with AD&D 1st edition. There just something . . . raw and creative and evocative about it. It allows an awesome kind of freeform rp with fast slick combats, its modularity, its art . . . sigh. I have never had a problem finding things in the books, there is an...

Running a short game for first time players at school

I'd say this is bang on. You want it to be easy to start and exciting from the begining. I secound creating a selection of (nameless) pre gens. make sure there are more then you need so that they have that much choice. Furthermore, avoid discussing rules much. Don't take more then five...

3PP still producing 3.5 compatible stuff?

I would guess that this comment was designed to eliminate discussions of other d20 system rules products, along the lines of True20, etc. ;) i could be wrong of course.

3PP still producing 3.5 compatible stuff?

Most of the companies that I know are still doing 3.5 have already been mentioned (I'm sure therre is more). I thought I'd mention that 6d6fireball is still taking submissions for new 3.5 (or possibly systems neutral) adventurers. You can see the links in my sig for some details. I also know...

    Hackmaster

Interesting thanks for posting the charactersheet up. I've always said 'a charactersheet is worth a thousand words', it can tell you a fair bit about a rules system.

[3.5] A Dark and Stormy Night

"Well folks, large number of small similar doors, or that large double doors past the staircase?" Dacen regards the undead beggar curiously, trying to tell if his approach is any indication of taking one of the southern doors.
