I think I could give advantage to them becouse they had time to set the ambush. The PG roll if they declare they are searching, and they get advantage if they were told of the spot. It seems fair to me, your opinion? My players won't suspect anyting if I make some rolls. . . I always roll dices ;)

When this happens the text of the adventure imposes Wisdom (perception) checks on the party members, giving them advantage if they declare that they are searching for..... Shouldn't those trying to hide roll a Dexterity (Stealth) check and beat the passive perception of those looking for them...

I would suggest that you skip time forward. The old PCs are now in places of power or obtained whatever they were after. This will aid the players to percieve them no longer as their PCs, and it will make easier to accept their death.

I understood it this way: You are a caster of appropriate class and level for that scroll: no roll. You are a caster of the appropriate class for that scroll but of a lower level: you roll. The "otherwise" is for the level prerequisite. Maybe I am fooled by the knowledge of the old 3.x rules.

I don't know this microlite, but I am in search of a DM to play with and an old style rpg adventure (temple of elemental evil would be perfect but I fear I am asking too much). I tell you: I am not english, I read and write well enough but maybe it is better if I play the silent barbarian type.

I like it and I use it in my PS campaign. Players cannot read the MM, cannot study it, so they can only learn playing, and to learn while playing they cannot distract. I don't care if the player learned something with a previous PC, I reward player's past attention.
