    D&D General Why defend railroading?

All DMs railroad. It's only a "bad" thing when players think that's what's happening because the internet told them so.

D&D General When Players Refuse to learn The Rules

I had a rogue player that completed an entire campaign ending at level 12 and still never knew how many damage dice to roll when doing a sneak attack. I don't play with them anymore.

D&D 5E (2014) How many combat encounters per adventuring day does your group have?

Sometimes 20. Sometimes none. It varies wildly depending on what's going on.

D&D 5E (2014) Crazy house rule idea: One Level Exhaustion to take a Long Rest

Long rest taking a week. That's fine. I do that. An action to get a level of exhaustion to get a long rest makes no damn sense. Exhaustion to long rest. Think about the logic there.

D&D 5E (2014) How do Ability Score Modifiers Stack?

I'd say set value is set value, modifiers are ignored.

D&D 5E (2014) How on earth is this balanced?! Twilight cleric, more in-play evidence

Apparently I use a different means of measuring fun than effectiveness in combat compared to the other players.

D&D 5E (2014) How on earth is this balanced?! Twilight cleric, more in-play evidence

Balance and fun are entirely different scales and unrelated in every conceivable way.

D&D 5E (2014) How on earth is this balanced?! Twilight cleric, more in-play evidence

The biggest mistake 3e+ made is to think that balance is achievable or desired.

    D&D 5E (2014) Increasing/Modifying Attunement

Balance and sense are entirely different things.

    D&D 5E (2014) Increasing/Modifying Attunement

Isn't that logically the opposite of how it should work? Wouldn't a wizard be the ideal candidate for breaking the limit?

    D&D 5E (2014) Increasing/Modifying Attunement

I like attunement. Here are my houserules to avoid the limit.

D&D 5E (2014) Houseruled: Feats, Rolled Stats, MCing Pick One

Those 3 things have nothing to do with each other. That said I always only roll stats. I rarely use feats. I've only multiclassed once.

D&D General Let's talk about Domains, War, Leadership and Sundry

I play 5e and just use the original BECMI War Machine rules as-is. I have Colville's book and ordered the other, but haven't used it. It seems lame by comparison. The BECMI rules can be used almost as-is.

D&D 5E (2014) On Die Averages and Hit Points in 5e

    There's confusion on this?
  15. C

D&D General Why does D&D still have 16th to 20th level?

This is why BECMI is the best edition. It went to level 36 and nobody that played that edition wondered what the point was of higher levels. There was plenty of stuff to do.

    D&D 5E (2014) Resting Variant

"Officially, balance between classes assumes 6 to 8 encounter per long rest. At the same time, there is roughly 15 encounters until reaching the next level." Both of these statements are insanely false in any game I run.
