WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

That has not been my experience at all. After all, LLM’s don’t use people we see every day. Instead, it uses the vast amounts of art and images we have of women. Surprise, surprise: most of them are conventionally attractive. I have had huge trouble using MidJourney to make women who didn’t...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Not entirely. What if only a couple art pieces were generated this way? Or even just rendered, as per Glory of the Giants?

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Sure, and I know there’s a huge gray area. I believe we vote with our wallets, and WotC might miss over 50% of their market if the people with strong convictions stick to their guns.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Why? Do you think we won’t have a choice but to buy TTRPG books with AI generated content? As long as there is a market for people who buy things based on their ethics, I think we’ll be able to buy things for humans by humans. Think of it as fairtrade products or soy-based meat replacements.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

I agree with everything you say, by the way. What I am hoping to prove for myself is that there is too little interest in such WotC products. Why would they use AI this way if most people will stop buying from them? It might still be cheaper for them, but if even 50% of their consumers won’t...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Yes I should have been more specific. I would say that is a tool, not a product we can buy now. This question is intended for products released as we know them now.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Good question! That is a question each of us has two answer for ourselves.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

I can understand that. What do you think about WotC using their own archive of text and images?

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Yes, a DM tool made using their own data would probably be ok with me. For this question I try to contain things to content they are already producing now, like books and minis

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Hi folks! I am curious about what would be a dealbreaker for people who buy WotC products. I see a lot of talk on social media about “AI” being used to make WotC products sooner or later. Now I am curious: if you knew a product was the direct result of the recent public tools often referred to...

    D&D 5E (2024) Reworking the 2024 Hiding rules

Could you bold or italicize the parts you changed?

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

So far I have been running it pretty RAW, but my game is limited to PHB24 and MPMotMultiverse. ability scores are not attached to backgrounds spirit guardians and the like only trigger once per turn at any point in a fight, the party can choose to retreat. In that case, the party flees the...

D&D General How often do you use Homebrew in your own games?

Every session. I homebrew monsters & magic items mostly, but also I have a couple house rules.

D&D General Which edition handled alignment best?

This topic is perfect for arguments, combining alignment and edition war. I don't really see alignment as adding much to the game. Often times it's just a constraint and an arbitrary distinction that doesn't work in real life, which I try to emulate. It can help with role playing monsters, but...

WotC WotC (Mistakenly) Issues DMCA Takedown Against Baldur's Gate-themed Stardew Valley Mod

No, it's WotC's IP. That's why Larian now goes to make their own game again. Creative freedom, ownership and less board meetings.

D&D 5E (2014) Why is no one talking about THE BOOK OF MANY THINGS?

I've actually been using it quite a bit on Roll20, and someone sent me her spare set of cards that she got with the purchase. They were in perfect condition and look amazing. I am having trouble convincing myself to get a physical copy, even though I am pretty sure I would get it if I didn't...

WotC WotC (Mistakenly) Issues DMCA Takedown Against Baldur's Gate-themed Stardew Valley Mod

It looks like a mod using the beloved Baldur's Gate 3 character's is no longer available on the Nexus Mods website. Read PC Gamer's article for more information. It doesn't appear to have much more information than this. I didn't know you could strike a DMCA against a mod!

    D&D 5E (2024) Fireball is a C Tier Spell

After level 3? But annihilating minions is what the game is all about! :D I build encounters based on the situation. In tier 3, I don't even count the monsters in the XP budget. It's about creating a believable host. Just because the PC's are level 8, doesn't mean necromancers don't use zombies...

    D&D 5E (2024) Fireball is a C Tier Spell

Depends on the campaign, but I love using a half dozen CR 1/8 to CR 1 to give encounters some more depth. Zombies, Toughs, Shadows, Kuo-Toa, Pirates, Acolytes, Grung, Swarms of Stirges and the list goes on.

    D&D 5E (2024) Fireball is a C Tier Spell

This is such a weird take to me. Fireball still turns the tide of battle in many encounters I have run, and that hasn't changed with the revision. A ton of damage still does what you want, and can clear minions easily. Sure it falls off in a couple levels, but that's fine.
