    D&D 5E (2014) #BOOMBIGGEN - 2 action spellcasting

I imagine it would be mainly used for ambushing unaware baddies, rather than during combat. Most fights change too much every round to 'Hold' a spell without you considering your options again. What about the targeting and placement of AOE? Do i do it this round or the next? Its still too...

D&D 5E (2014) Divine Soul is Kinda Nasty

Sure you save a spell slot, but you also picked Extend, which is a poor Metamagic choice. Big opportunity cost.

D&D 5E (2014) Divine Soul is Kinda Nasty

Those sound good on paper, but it doesn't really translate in actual play. I speak from experience. 20 min of Spiritual Guardians is great, if you can find a combat encounter that last that long, AND you can somehow keep up concentration for that long. 16 hour Aid... Come on, i dont know any...

D&D 5E (2014) Would it break the Ranger to give him Natural Explorer in every terrain?

But its not the same. Other classes can solve troublesome environment with magic, but likely at the cost of spell slots, and you need to consider they might not have the spell prepared/selected. With your fix, all Rangers need to do is exist, and they just auto-win any exploration encounter.

D&D 5E (2014) [Poll] Are any of the subclasses underpowered?

If warlock was good as a standalone class, minmaxers wouldn't be talking about 'warlock dips' all the time.

D&D 5E (2014) [Poll] Are any of the subclasses underpowered?

IMO the weakest of them all is Undying Warlock. Lets see, if you're not facing undead or disease, Among the dead is useless. Depending on campaign, undead might be common, or might not see a single one at all. Diseases are quite rare in my experience. Poor design overall. Defy death - Once per...

    D&D 5E (2014) On meaningless restrictions

You're kidding right? No way those measly extra HP is comparable to real defensive abilities. Besides, you're straying from the real argument whether they are meaningless restrictions or not. My point on why they are 'meaningless': Its not an actual rule. Its more like a parent telling their...

    D&D 5E (2014) On meaningless restrictions

That's just your perceived balance, and even then its for Moon Druids only. What about the caster druids? They got no Mage armor/Shield, no Shield of Faith, and they can't cast spells in wild shape. Then there's the stupidity of having proficiency in Medium armour, but can't use any of them bar...

    D&D 5E (2014) On meaningless restrictions

There is only one meaningless restriction in the game: Druids can't wear metal. Once they confirmed that armor material can be refluffed, there's no meaning to this. Metal armour just don't fit into their idea of a druid, but if it fits your character, then it should not be a problem.

D&D 5E (2014) Do you know the feeling of de-feat? (Playing a featless game.)

So far all the DMs and campaigns that i join do use feats. I don't think i can even try joining a feat-less game as i have not heard any are running near my area. Most DMs i know of stick closely to the core rules, some allowing the occasional homebrew or UA.

D&D 5E (2014) Should WotC Keep the Love Domain as is?

I think there's nothing wrong with the name Love Domain. Love has always been strongly associated with passion, amorous activities and seduction. It is about using the power of seduction, charm and whatnot instead of straight up violence. I always hear the argument that love is not sex, but the...

D&D General How Was Your Last Session?

Nothing too interesting, except when our party cleric tried to tap my PC's ass. That came out of nowhere, and the DM told him to roll attack which missed, and i promptly step back and cast Firebolt in his face. I was so hoping that it was a crit. I always knew the cleric player was kind of a...

D&D 5E (2014) removing cantrips: what to give instead?

I'm not buying it. Cantrips are there for the full casters to feel like full casters. Mechanically, its also not as simple as 'I want to remove them so i'll just replace them with something else'. Clerics for example, would be completely borked. If you replace cantrips with Heavy Armor prof...

D&D 5E (2014) Would you play D&D if you knew there would be no combat?

I wanted to vote, but i can't choose between the options. You see, the PHB's rules are mostly combat because it assumes the setting is Forgotten Realms, it assumes the players are adventurers. These are the 2 big assumptions that make up the rules. If no combat means i am playing Jon the apple...

    D&D 5E (2014) Removing the HP Bloat

Not really. You said we usually don't agree with each other, but actually the truth is... from your posts, you have shown that you lack understanding of stuff, and your opinions are... misinformed. HP bloat is a thing, yes, but mostly at very high levels. That's because all the martials (except...

    Its simple - git gud.

    D&D 5E (2014) Removing the HP Bloat

I have the opposite problem - I think most monters don't live long enough. Most monsters, even those with lots of hp, would be lucky to live to Round 3. If you halve the HPs of monsters, i dont think combat will be fun or balanced. Every fight would be a matter of who goes first and who strikes...

WotC Unpopular Opinion: WotC is the Bethesda of RPG Companies

Unpopular opinion? More like wrong opinion. You can't compare WotC to the trash that is Bethesda.
