    Best Digital Product Organizer?

I'm cautious about software that gets really intimate with Windows, and I've had some bad experiences with data indexing systems with bugs.

    Game Mechanics & Lore

They need to not clash with the lore. For example, using a game system with inappropriate levels of mechanical detail (too much or too little) for the setting, mood and tone will just annoy people. Many other things can be mismatched, but fortunately, designers and GMs don't seem to get this...

Attributes Should Be a Guideline for Personality

Early 1980s, a group playing OD&D. Roll 3D6 for stats.

    Best Digital Product Organizer?

I had not heard of Everything before your posting. Having looked at its website, I do not fancy it. Agent Ransack is considerably simpler, without a database, NTFS interface, and other complexities.

When "playing it wrong" is more fun

This is why I prefer games that aren't very prescriptive about their play style.

    Best Digital Product Organizer?

I just keep stuff organised in folders on my laptop, by game system and in some cases by line within a system. For reading them I use Sumatra PDF. If I need to search PDFs in detail, Agent Ransack does the job with regular expressions.

Attributes Should Be a Guideline for Personality

A few D&D characters I saw played back in the early eighties, in a group where you were expected o do this: Fay was a talented magician with INT 18, but had WIS 3. This mostly showed in her complete lack of critical thinking. You could talk her into anything. Hoyou the barbarian had INT 3 and...

    Can you count?

It's just binary, laid out in a slightly obscure way. It would take my players less than a minute.

    Kickstarter: GURPS Mission X

Oh, they aren't. But what an "adventurer" needs varies by genre, setting and tech level. If you're playing a fantasy air force game where the characters ride (or are) giant flying creatures, then Dropping skill is important for dropping rocks, barrels of boiling oil, and the like on-target...

    Worlds of Design: Combat Methods

My preference is for dependent combat with low (but not zero) standard deviation, and critical hits. Two things that usually go along with those are armour that reduces damage taken, and fairly small numbers of hit points, so that a few hits will take a PC down (but not necessarily kill them)...

After something of a real-time gap, our heroes recapped. They're on an Antarctic expedition, in May 1951, looking for Nazis who fled in spring 1945. They've found two cargo U-Boats, which had been mothballed, and a tunnel leading from the cove where they are to a rail tunnel. That seems to be...

What Is Your Go-To Pick-Up TTRPG?

If the players have characters in the great OD&D/AD&1e meta-campaign, I can whip something up in that on the fly. If not, Toon. Everyone understands the premise immediately, character generation is trivial, and it's great fun and over quickly.

Looking for dice-based TTRPG players, who have a few minutes free time for a quick survey.

Fairly well. I was doing this in 2015-16, but stopped when the pound suddenly sank against the dollar. I'd also made most of my practical ideas by then. At the time, Chessex took graphics files (I gave them PDFs I'd generated from designs done in Inkscape) and laser-engraved them, then filled...

I'll do the survey later, but here are some pictures of custom dice that Chessex made for me.
