are you planning on doing all your levels in cleric? It also sounds like you plan on doing some melee front line fighting, is this correct? Lastly is the character going to be good/heroic?

Also having the high ground by 5ft or more grants expertise in melee combat

Fair, I suppose it vary’s by table, one of the players at my table has excellence and we’ve never had an issue. I can see it’s more potent during the adventure but I passed on it as its fulfilment was less desist able than others. I’ve found I can get coming of age to give inspiration most sessions

You nerfed a destiny? Which aspect of it? It would depend on the build but I found coming of age to be better in its flexibility looking towards knowledge with its fulfilment feature.

i should add, i was excited to see it as turn undead can feel like a waste within a classes power budget on alot of builds, i often feel this way about eldritch blast and warlocks.

essentially the alternatives are complete replacements, they have very little in common with turn undead and have their own upgrade paths

I was including it as a specific example of shields as a weapon one can be proficient in, with that subclass there is no mention of treating them as improvised weapons. you could probably use that as justification to treat them as rare weapons.

What about your animal form? You loose your heritage traits, do you gain your animal traits? The animal transformation aspect has scarce guidance on the situation

The new channel divinity options look amazing! Can you just pick any of them? It would seem so but it doesn’t outright state?

Would the damage from the wound increase from technical fighting or maneuver specialization? If you applied both it becomes 1d4+4 and would be a point cheaper
