    D&D 5E (2014) Houseruling Long Rests

I'm thinking of running a 5E game in Greyhawk but want to houserule Long Rests as follows: A Long Rest is a period of extended downtime, at least 8 hours long, during which a character sleeps or performs light activity: reading, talking, eating, or standing watch for no more than 2 hours. If...

I would... if the boxed set was of high quality and comprehensive.

    D&D 5E (2014) Don't Throw 5e Away Because of Hasbro

SCAG is fine but isn't as comprehensive as the old setting guides for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd edition. The lack of gloriously packed boxed sets for settings is my biggest gripe with WotC's management of the D&D brand. I'm sure another publisher could put out lovingly detailed campaign settings and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Don't Throw 5e Away Because of Hasbro

I do feel that there is has a BIG drop in quality for WotC's D&D products over the past few years, especially when it comes to settings (I'm looking at you, Planescape and Spelljammer). If WotC's not going to give settings the love they deserve, they should license them out to other companies.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Newbie - Tear Apart My Bad Build Ideas

THIS site is great for optimizing characters of all classes. I've used it quite a bit over the past 10 years. As for your character idea; it looks fine to me.

D&D General 50th Anniversary- Are You Not Entertained?

My totally unrealistic, 50th anniversary wishlist shares some of @Snarf Zagyg's items: A proper boxed set for Greyhawk, complete with a beautiful map of The Flanaess, an in-depth setting book, and a player's guide with rules for species, classes, clerical domains, etc. A tremendous boxed set...

    D&D 3.x Edition Experience - Did/Do you Play 3rd Edtion D&D? How Was/Is it?

I voted that I played it and wasn't impressed. The reality is that I loved it at first but grew to find it tedious... especially when playing higher level characters.

AD&D 3?? Perhaps some can help me find this

PM me your email address and I'll send you a link to the old files (if I can find them). To be honest, the new rules are pretty much the same BUT bonuses to skills/checks got scaled back a bit. The old rules proficiency gave you a +1 bonus/level to skills and checks (while non-proficiency gave...

AD&D 3?? Perhaps some can help me find this

I'm running some 1st edition adventures with it and, so far, it's been pretty seamless. Players are more powerful than their 1st or 2nd edition counterparts BUT still find the adventures to be a challenge. If anything, the bump in power level makes for a longer adventuring day... which is a...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e 10/10 Products

I really enjoy the game but really wish that WotC would license out campaign settings to 3rd part publishers. I love detailed campaign settings, especially boxed sets with maps and multiple books... they help me dive into the lore of that setting and immerse myself in it. Eberron Rising from...

D&D 5E (2014) D&D's Classic Settings Are Not 'One Shots'

WotC should license out classic settings, like Greyhawk and Planescape, so that they can get in-depth, boxed set releases with large maps and multiple books. I'm sure that crowd-sourcing those settings would help minimize the risks of a product underselling.

    Unpopular opinions go here

WotC should start publishing fully fleshed out campaign settings again. Their current model stinks.

What's the WORST Star Wars movie?

I never saw The Rise of Skywalker. After the first two sequels I just couldn't bring myself to watch it. If I ever ran a Star Wars game, there would be only 4 Star Wars movies that would serve as canon: 1] Rogue One 2] Star Wars 3] The Empire Strikes Back 4] Return of the Jedi

    AD&D 2E On AD&D 2E

2nd edition is, definitely, my sentimental favorite... so much so that, when I wrote my AD&D3 houserules (basically I mash-up of Castles & Crusades and AD&D), I tried to make them as 2nd edition compatible as possible. It was the most versatile set of rules and, during its run, TSR put out a...
