D&D General Could a thief get away with a 1-man crime wave by making it so obvious that she's the 1 responsible that the police assume she's being framed

Keith Baker wrote an interesting sourcebook for Atlas Games titled "Crime and Punishment" which discusses law and order in a fantasy gameworld. It does differentiate between the King's Justice and also Divine Law.

D&D General JMISBEST's questions. Most of them about campaign ideas that either he or A GM he knows has and wants to know what people think

Out of curiosity I found my 6th printing January 1980 PHB from the box in the loft and the table does match with your findings; you need to be a 14th level Mage to cast 7th level spells. The 14th level requirement also seems to carry over to AD&D 2E as well.

What is the single best science fiction or fantasy franchise?

You might want to add The Spider - Master of Men to that list.

What is the single best science fiction or fantasy franchise?

For me it's Blakes 7, a classic British sf show which used adult themes in a fair number of its stories.

What is the single best science fiction or fantasy franchise?

Especially since Decipher had licenced rpgs that used the same mechanics which made both games compatible :-)

    Space Cockney/Creole/Patois

While the web page you mention discusses languages in England and Wales, there are a few that have slipped our governments notice. Places like Hammersmith and Golders Green have a larger Jewish population so you're more likely to hear words taken from Hebrew out of context. Neasden has a...

That Wheel of Fate looks a lot less useful than the Pandora's Dice Wheel that I purchased back in the late 80's. https://rpggeek.com/rpgitem/150283/pandoras-dice-wheel

2000AD Judge Dredd - Arresting perps?

In the Worlds of 2000AD book that a Judge should attempt to arrest the perp. Is there some sort of test of will where the Judge exerts their authority and tries to force the perp to give up?

Achtung Cthulhu 2d20 Makes World War II Even Weirder

Whilst I like the setting I have the older books for CoC so I'm not going to purchase the books again. Plus there is something about the 2d20 system that just doesn't gel for me and the group.

[Call of Cthulhu] Dreamlands as a campaign setting?

There is The Sense of The Sleight of Hand Man which is a complete campaign set in the Dreamlands. It does deal with mature themes though

[VTT] Going Back to VTT Instead of Live Play

I did try this with a previous group. One of the players had moved out of the area so I had a netbook running Skype with them connected to the other end of the call. Three people in the room and one on the computer. While it did work, I did rather have the impression that it was like having...

Does anybody else experience "DM's High"?

You're not the only one. I find it hard to wind down after a good session and if its been a really good night the following day I'm feeling all sorts of drained.

    Escaping Violent Players

First session I ever played in, one player was annoyed at me for some reason and stabbed my shin with his pencil; it drew a reasonable amount of blood. Never went back, never played with that idiot ever again.
