Here Come The PRESTIGE CLASSES! Plus Rune Magic!

For me, yes. Obviously, for you it's not. I prefer a bit more reality in my games versus more of a computer game-y aspect.

Here Come The PRESTIGE CLASSES! Plus Rune Magic!

Hey SuperZero! Welcome to the board! Please don't take a mocking tone with the members here. It will allow your points to be better received :) As for figuring out things on your own, there's definitely a lot of RL examples to draw from (as you've already pointed out). As an electrical...

Here Come The PRESTIGE CLASSES! Plus Rune Magic!

So that's a yes on sarcasm. Good to know. I think you miss my point which is, if I choose as a DM to not allow prestige classes or only certain ones, I can easily do so by not having anyone in the world to train the PC. Right now, the current multi-classing rules don't sit well with me. A...

Here Come The PRESTIGE CLASSES! Plus Rune Magic!

I like that the prestige class requires the PC find someone to teach them the new class. It's a great way for the DM to control the rarity of certain classes in the game.

D&D 5E (2014) Stormwind Fallacy and Vonklaude's observation on limitations

I had a guy in my group who is a char-op player to the extreme. After playing a 5e campaign for a bit, he realized he had assigned his stats 'wrong' and therefore could not multi-class. So, of course, he had to create a new char-op character. Except, this time the optimization was around the...

D&D 5E (2014) [GUIDE] Playing Dice with the Universe: A Slant Guide to Wild-Magic Sorcerer

Um, shouldn't these "how best to build your character" threads be in the CharOp forum?

    The Geekification of Everything?

This editorial makes me wish the D&D movie sucks!

    D&D 5E (2014) Rules for moral?

You guys have a great concept for a new HGTV show: This Old Keep.

D&D 5E (2014) Why is "whimisical and dark" humour needed to offset the dark and depressed theme of Out of the Abyss?

I personally would love a Terry Gilliam level of madness in a campaign.

    D&D 5E (2014) The word ‘Race’

Ironically, I just ran a session focused on the cult of Wastri attempting to take over a local city by stoking racism towards demi-humans. At first the group started by calling them racists, but clearly the cult had no beef with other human races (i.e. Flam, Suloise, Oeridian, etc). So...

D&D Movie/TV What would a good D&D movie be like?

If I were King of the World, I'd hire Joss Whedon to write the script. I'd give him every module, book, setting source material, and computer game ever made for D&D for reference. My only instruction would be to make a movie he'd enjoy watching. :)

    It's All About Illithids

I think the illithid itself looks great as it is. But, yeah, what ever it was shooting out doesn't look like a mind blast at all. Maybe it should have more of a shimmering water like effect instead.

D&D 5E (2014) Spell Preparation: Leaving Slots Open

Ruling that you can slot up spells on the fly almost completely nullifies the point of having ritual casters.

    Who Makes WotC's Adventures?

Nope. Mr. Carriker stated it perfectly.

    D&D 5E (2014) Hobgoblin Captain Damage

Haha! That's what I was thinking too.

    D&D 5E (2014) Hobgoblin Captain Damage

On page 186 of the Monster Manual the Hobgoblin Captain's greatsword damage is listed as piercing. Shouldn't it be slashing?

    Who Makes WotC's Adventures?

Agreed! I just know it tastes delicious! :p

    Who Makes WotC's Adventures?

I don't understand why people feel they have a right to know how the sausage is made.

    New WotC Layoffs?

I blame the 'invisible hand' of the market.
