Streamlining their offerings is not the same as eliminating all physical books and doesn’t leave them vulnerable in the market place like abandoning written material altogether would. And many of the splat books and magazines lost money for TSR. Part of the reason they are gone.

Agreed. I think the fear of going digital only is vastly overblown. I think WoTC will continue to promote digital and hope to move some people over but just as the belief that ebooks would replace paper books was wholly unfounded I suspect this will be too.

They didn’t miss it. It just doesn’t support what they want to get upset about.

I appreciate you sharing. It helps me understand your POV more. I also like the weapon masteries, feats at level 1 and the acknowledgement that most experienced groups start at level 3 (even my beginning groups usually start at level 3).

Well they still have to green light it DL is their IP. I imagine they will also review it to ensure there is nothing that would embarrass them.

I don’t use alignment in that way either. I use the characters actions to determine their alignment. But I think it looks very cool and I am sure a lot people especially new people to the game are going to appreciate that layout.

I wish there had been more substantial changes like getting rid of short rest, major changes to Warlock and more modularity between class advancement. Things that didn’t make it far in the revision process. However I am still pretty excited for the new books but to be honest don’t feel this...

Yeah they are literally nothing alike. One is YA by today’s standards and the other well it would be NC-17 or worse if a movie.
