Critical Role Tal'Dorei Reborn from Critical Role Is Out!

Last I heard, it won't be on Amazon, it's on the Darrington Press website instead. Amazon takes a part of every sale on their site, while Darrington press is owned by Critical Role (so they keep more of the money).

RPG Evolution: Looking Ahead to 2022

I really love Kobold Press; they have a ton of books I use all the time. The Midgard setting is very cool, and the Southlands books have now been released as well, expanding the setting even further. Their Vault of Magic gives a ton of new magic items, Deep Magic has hundreds of pages of new...

RPG Evolution: Looking Ahead to 2022

My message to any WOTC folks reading this is to stop the practice of not giving player races typical stat bonuses for members of that race. Human's main benefit for many editions has been that they can choose where to put their stat bonuses. The basic Humans in 5e instead got a +1 in every...

D&D 5E (2014) Check Out The Full Monsters of the Multiverse Cover Art

While I would normally be excited to see 30 player races and 250 monsters in 1 book, I already own the books they are being pulled from (Volo's, Mordenkainen's, and Tasha's), so I don't see any real reason to buy this book (much less the gift set with the reprinted books w/new covers).

    Marvel Multiverse RPG Alternate Covers

This is the D666 game (it say's you need 3 6 sided dice to play), but of course they can't say "Fantastic things will happen when you roll a 6 on all 3 dice" because then players would be be cheering for a "666 result". So you need 2 6's and a 1 instead.

Roll20's Latest Usage Report: D&D Steady, Cthulhu Down!

On the ratings for Star Wars and Star Trek, I can't help but feel that the settings' latest movies and TV shows (with only a few exceptions, like Mandalorian) have pretty much killed interest in younger players who didn't experience those universes in their heydays...

Fate also is divided (no idea why they did it to those 2 games). FATE (Core, Accelerated, Dresden Files...): .30% Fate: .08%

Original Pathfinder is still beating the heck out of the 2nd edition (3.2% vs 1.4%)!

Level Up (A5E) Level Up Screens, Vampires, Combat Maneuvers, & More!

While the idea seems interesting, all 3 books would cost me $187 including shipping... That's way too much given my circumstances right now.

Monolith Updates on the Batman RPG

Hard pass for me. The DC Adventures RPG from Green Ronin and the DC Heroes game from Mayfair already do Gotham and it's inhabitants, along with all the other DC characters. Why would I want this game that is only focused on Gotham?

D&D 5E (2014) Tracy & Laura Hickman Announce Skyraiders of Abarax

What is a "Dragon's sylph?" Google says it's either an imaginary spirit of the air (Sylphs are a fae creature in D&D) or a green and blue humming bird. Neither of those would seem to belong to a dragon or be able to carry a crew of air-pirates/adventurers.

More Details From Marvel RPG Writer

I bought the first 2 games on this list and enjoyed them a lot, especially FASERIP. I skipped the last 2 because I felt I already had superior Marvel games with the other 2. Not sure what I'll do about this new one, but it needs to stick closely to the classic Marvel characters for me to give...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Mages of Strixhaven

While I like the idea a lot, I think if 6e is going to go this route, the levels at which each class gains a subclass ability should all be the same (such as at level 1 and every odd level you only get your base class abilities, while at level 2 and every even level you get your subclass...

Critical Role Critical Role’s 7-hour Campaign Finale

Critical Role's second season brought so much joy to me through many hard times. From learning to walk again after surviving a heart attack and stroke that left me in a coma back in 2018, through the isolation of the pandemic of 2020, I've watched every episode! I can't wait to see what kind of...

Official News Let’s Look At The Level Up Character Sheet

Playtest (A5E) Level Up Playtest Document #12: Bard

It says on the chart that at level 1 the Bard knows 3 Cantrips and 4 spells, but he only has 2 1st level spell slots to cast with. In the written description, under "Spells Known at 1st level and higher", it says that a 1st level Bard only knows 2 spells of 1st level, not 4. So which is it?
