Ditto. I preferred Anthraxus as the Asmodeus or Demogorgon equivalent--he might have challengers for the title, but nobody questioned that, until and unless someone dethroned him, he was the Big Cheese. I never did care for the addition of the General, or the origin they gave for the Yugoloths...

While I certainly have settings I like more than others, and a few I even actively don't care for, I can't imagine that even the latter would prevent from playing with a group I otherwise wanted to game with. The setting is merely a starting point, after all.

Why on Earth would world-building be in the PHB? It's in the DMG, where it belongs, and they devote quite a bit of space to world-building, plane-building/planar configuration, etc.

Could someone with early access to the book, or to D&D Beyond, share the 5E lore on the Oinoloth? I've heard they've made it a type of Yugoloth, rather than an individual title. Is that so? If it is, have they addressed that as a change, or is it more of a "This is how it's always been" thing...

The sacred statue isn't supposed to have a CR. It's part of the eidolon encounter. Or such is my understanding, anyway.

Truth be told, I rarely worry about it. I assume the planes I need for a given campaign are "out there," but I don't tend to concern myself with how they line up with each other, because such distinctions are meaningless where planar travel is concerned. That said, if I'm playing a campaign...
