    Special Magic Item Features: Quirks

That's entirely up to Morrus, but I certainly wouldn't object.

Check out the Astral Deadnought from Mordenkainen's Tome

It doesn't even have to "become a portal," per se, just continue to function for a few days. I love the idea that you have to climb down the corpse's gullet to get there. :] In fact, even in games where I don't use the "linked donjons demiplane" idea, I might still do that rather than have the...

Check out the Astral Deadnought from Mordenkainen's Tome

Am I the only one who wants to redesign the Donjon as its own plane, and have all astral dreadnoughts (and possibly a few other creatures/phenomena) lead there? This would be a great place for any of the "near-infinite dungeon as campaign setting" supplements that have been released by various...

    Special Magic Item Features: Quirks

The special features tables for magic items are among 5E’s most flavorful additions. These details grant even the plainest of such items a unique feel. Still, any given list of options only remains fresh for so long. Presented in this series are additional random tables, adding new details and...

Special Magic Item Features: Minor Properties (5E)

Well, remember, these aren't supposed to be impressive. These are the minor "extras" you can roll randomly for, like the "glows blue in the presence of orcs" thing, not anything item-defining. The power you suggest could certainly work, and I considered something similar. It felt, to me, a...

Mechanics of Revived Settings; your thoughts?

Oh, God, don't do that. I would abuse that power something fierce. ;)

Mechanics of Revived Settings; your thoughts?

You don't need to dress it up, because there's literally zero value in posting it. Seriously, you're more than welcome to dislike 5E, but exactly what's to be gained from posting--in a 5E thread, on a 5E forum, specifically about reviving settings into 5E--that you don't care for it? It's...

Can I take a second bonus action in place of my action during a round?

I personally think it's fine as a general house rule, with the understanding that it's case-by-case; the DM always the right to declare that any particular combination of two bonus actions is either mechanically unsound or thematically inappropriate. But some people aren't happy with that sort...

D&D 5E (2014) As a DM what spell / ability do you find most annoying?

    Special Magic Item Features: Origins

Well, I'm not a regular as in "someone who has a weekly column" or anything like that. But I have a good working relationship with Russ, so I imagine that whenever I have an idea that fits into the short article format, he and I will work something out to get it up on the site. :) And of...

D&D 5E (2014) As a DM what spell / ability do you find most annoying?

As much as I love paladins and almost everything about them, I could really do without the saving throw bonus granted by their aura. With a good Charisma, it can come very close to an "everyone saves against everything all the time" button.

    Neural network-created monsters

I came across this on Twitter, and had to share it here. I mean, what campaign wouldn't be improved by the inclusion of, say, a hatfright, a spectral slug, a greater mommy, a desert beeple, or a durp snake? http://aiweirdness.com/post/172170729017/dungeons-and-dragons-creatures-generated-by

PF2 rule, 3 actions per turn, anyone experimenting with this in 5e?

No, it's three actions on your turn, and one reaction. So you can still do an opportunity attack if the, uh, opportunity presents itself.
