ZEITGEIST 1001 things PCs are totally allowed to do in Zeitgeist campaign

You have no idea how deep this rabbit hole goes. Behold Heward Sechim and Glaz du Sang Magie. That is arkwright's game, wherein I am a 4e player. I am soon to run my own anime girl Zeitgeist game, as a 4e DM rather than as a player. I have my own mangling of the setting. Behold Vlendam Heid...

ZEITGEIST 1001 things PCs are totally allowed to do in Zeitgeist campaign

My GM (arkwright) and I have already long since mutated Zeitgeist into a magical girl anime using 4e. You should see some of our PC and NPC portraits. Behold Luc Jierre, for example.

ZEITGEIST Post-Zeitgeist Setting and Adventures Discussion (Spoilers!)

It is a little on the unpalatable side to my personal preferences, but I can understand the necessary evil of a "canon" arrangement of planes, and even various outcomes to the myriad political actions in the adventure paths. I do not think they should roll back the technology, though, or the...

ZEITGEIST Post-Zeitgeist Setting and Adventures Discussion (Spoilers!)

I would strongly prefer for all the cultural, political, technological, magical, and cosmological advancements to be fully acknowledged, implemented, and highlighted. If this new setting wants to be a proper sequel, then I think it should actually build upon those changes to the world, rather...

ZEITGEIST Post-Zeitgeist Setting and Adventures Discussion (Spoilers!)

Tinker Oddcog does, however, have the support network and the factories necessary to spread the inventions far and wide. After all, the PCs are directly overseeing and supporting his works throughout the adventure path. Benedict Pemberton, too, manages to manufacture a significant quantity of...

ZEITGEIST Post-Zeitgeist Setting and Adventures Discussion (Spoilers!)

The American Revolutionary War is a fairly bad example, and I would argue that both World Wars are poor examples, too. Truth is ofttimes stranger than fiction, but in this case, real life cannot hold a candle to the well and truly absurd degree of political, cultural, religious, metaphysical...

ZEITGEIST Post-Zeitgeist Setting and Adventures Discussion (Spoilers!)

Also, never mind that the amount of planes that can be squeezed in is ambiguous. It could be possible to have a 15+ plane bonanza given multi-slotting of icons.

ZEITGEIST Post-Zeitgeist Setting and Adventures Discussion (Spoilers!)

I pitched the idea of a modular setting in the other thread myself, but it was shot down. It is a shame. I am worried that it will be terribly hard and invalidating to present a "canon" outcome. Planar configurations really are one of the major sticking points here, along with technologies...

    ZEITGEIST Anyone watching Carnival Row?

It is also simply that "sooty Victorian England plus fairies" tends to be one of the more common depictions of fantastical 19th century England.

ZEITGEIST Post-Zeitgeist Setting and Adventures Discussion (Spoilers!)

As I mention in the previous thread, by the time the adventure path is complete, there are radical new technologies: duplicants (great for communications and having a presence across the world), biplanes, automobiles, mega-airships, and so on and so forth. Tinker Oddcog's inventions are also...

ZEITGEIST Post-Zeitgeist Setting and Adventures Discussion (Spoilers!)

I have already given many of my thoughts in the linked thread, mostly concerning the feasibility of a post-adventure-path setting, and what it would take to make a new setting ripe for actual adventure. As I say in the thread, I do not think "Zeitgeist: All the Lights in the Sky: A Dieselpunk...

ZEITGEIST Looking for a writer for a ZEITGEIST setting book

I am still interested in the offer, though I would like to work alongside arkwright for this. Arkwright and I are willing to work without pay, though if there needs to be a sense of professionalism, we can work out a contract for payment. Neither of us have any creative writing degrees. What...

ZEITGEIST Looking for a writer for a ZEITGEIST setting book

Paizo has roughly two dozen pre-2e adventure paths under its metaphorical belt, and every single one of them combined involves far less radical societal, cultural, technological, and cosmologically changes than what goes on in just Zeitgeist. There is a well and truly mind-boggling degree of...

ZEITGEIST Looking for a writer for a ZEITGEIST setting book

I am a player underneath arkwright, and I have been studying the adventure path alongside them. I agree with my GM here on virtually all points above. We are already getting into heavy spoiler territory. I am effectively convinced that by the time the adventure path is complete, even under the...

ZEITGEIST Looking for a writer for a ZEITGEIST setting book

That would mean that the setting book is not actually usable for most groups who had actually completed the Zeitgeist adventure path, seeing how such groups are likely to have made different decisions in reshaping the world, everything from national policies to planar configurations. Even...

ZEITGEIST Looking for a writer for a ZEITGEIST setting book

That is highly ambitious, and I am not so sure that it would be particularly viable. In order for this to feasibly happen, you would need a modular setting with various "switches" that dictate setting details based on various choices made by the world-reshaping and cosmology-reshaping heroes...

ZEITGEIST Looking for a writer for a ZEITGEIST setting book

This is true. It is probably the best way to go about a setting book tailored towards accompanying Zeitgeist. A setting book intended for a campaign in which the adventure path never happens, though, is another matter altogether. What is the role of Ryan Nock in all of this? If this is Ryan...

ZEITGEIST Looking for a writer for a ZEITGEIST setting book

I must inquire: is this setting guide supposed to be pre-adventure-path, or post-adventure-path? Because the post-adventure-path setting is completely unrecognizable from the pre-adventure-path state of the world. The events of the adventure path completely shake up the world into a vastly...

    ZEITGEIST Ambassadors in Book 6

The ambassador of Risur to Ber is actually Duchess Ethelyn of Shale. The player's guide explicitly states that she "acts as Risur’s ambassador to its nearest neighboring nation." Presumably, after the book #1 incident, nobody has stepped up to replace her.

ZEITGEIST Looking for a writer for a ZEITGEIST setting book

Arkwright above is my GM. I can attest to the fact that the two of us have picked apart the setting in a heavily in-depth manner, and I do mean picked apart. I am confident that both of us could serve as a useful resource to someone writing a full-on Zeitgeist setting book.
