D&D General can we make better dragons?

:ROFLMAO: About a third of every single monster stat block — ability scores, hit points, saving throws, skills, languages, etc. — is from the PHB so I guess we should put every single monster in the Player's Handbook? Better yet, they should have just forgotten about three separate core books...

D&D General can we make better dragons?

I wholeheartedly agree with this for monsters in general. Official monster stat blocks tend to add in a lot of spells that won't even come into play in 99% of games, and they end up giving the DM way too much to decide upon. If you include, say, fireball in the spell list, that's likely the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Wrestlers Join the D&D Live Fray!

Xavier Woods appeared at a number of the PAX Unplugged I attended, and three years ago all four of the wrestlers in this panel appeared to chat about a live play D&D game that they streamed for a time. Ember Moon is also pretty big into RPGs in general and D&D specifically.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Live: Kate Welch returns with Jack Black, Reggie Watts and others!

Cool. I was just confused for a moment since the article said "WotC's Kate Welch" — I thought maybe she had rejoined the company.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Live: Kate Welch returns with Jack Black, Reggie Watts and others!

I thought Kate Welch left Wizards of the Coast last fall.

Dragonlance WotC Teases Possible Dragonlance Video Game

There was a time when that was absolutely revolutionary and bonkers for us Dungeons & Dragons fans. I spent countless hours playing through the SSI "gold box" games like Pool of Radiance. I think that series of games helped hook me on D&D.

    D&D 5E (2014) New WotC Survey! Learn About A New D&D Product!

Ok so I more or less found what was announced, and now I'm just confused as to why I wouldn't have been shown that content, given I'm a forever DM. Did they remove that content from the survey when they removed the NDA...?

    D&D 5E (2014) New WotC Survey! Learn About A New D&D Product!

Cool! I'll dig through a bit. I had just started at page 1 and saw a ton of pages at the bottom that scared me. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) New WotC Survey! Learn About A New D&D Product!

Was there anything in there that seemed like it "deserved" an NDA? Maybe it's only for players (I'm 100% DM)?

D&D 5E (2014) Ray Winninger mentions third project!

There's this guy. There's also this guy, but he doesn't really exude "helpful" and "reciprocal" to me. LOL

D&D 5E (2014) Ray Winninger mentions third project!

It's certainly possible that you're right, but I think it's less likely that the "Folk of the Feywild" UA was "the Strixhaven race" UA and more "a few different races we're testing out for a few different books" UA. I mean, so far, we've got the owlfolk on the cover art of the Strixhaven book...

D&D 5E (2014) Ray Winninger mentions third project!

The owlfolk seem to be the only one of the four that would apply to the Strixhaven world, though, no? Fairy and fey hobgoblins definitely seem more likely for a Feywild product. Rabbitfolk? That also sounds very apropos with respect to the Feywild, no?

D&D 5E (2014) Ray Winninger mentions third project!

Has someone actually confirmed that the race UA was for Strixhaven?

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Mages of Strixhaven

Pyromancer is the only one of those four that say anything about immunity being treated as resistance, and it's not official material. I myself have used "ignore resistance" in conjunction with "immunity is now just resistance" for a homebrew subclass or two, though. I went with the following...

D&D 5E (2014) Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft Table of Contents

Aren't those just a modernization of the ones that existed in 3E...?

D&D 5E (2014) Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft Table of Contents

So no Lord Soth :( Cool that they're including body snatchers in here... a little late for me as I just spent a bunch of time homebrewing off the bodythief monster from Pathfinder for a brief current arc that just started. 🤷

D&D General UPDATE: this isn't greenlit : Jeff Grubb's Lost Mystara Sourcebook To Be Released

This wasn't me projecting my own personal opinions about Critical Role and Dungeons & Dragons but rather just taking a stab at why the earlier poster who people were saying was throwing shade at Critical Role and setting up that false dichotomy might have had that perspective. There definitely...

D&D General UPDATE: this isn't greenlit : Jeff Grubb's Lost Mystara Sourcebook To Be Released

It's probably because Critical Role is well known to be the core driver of the massive influx of new D&D players that has served 5th Edition so well, mixed with a little bit of educated guessing that most of the fans — being super diehard Critical Role loyalists first and D&D fans second — won't...

D&D General UPDATE: this isn't greenlit : Jeff Grubb's Lost Mystara Sourcebook To Be Released

I'm super excited to see this. I've always been partial to Mystara since that was the setting of the first edition of the game that I partook in. The setting also inspired some aspects of my homebrew campaign setting that were at the forefront of my longest lived 5E campaign thus far, and I'm in...

D&D General Gameplay Trailer for D&D Dark Alliance Video Game

My thoughts exactly. I'm hoping that all of that tone was just their idea of "creative" marketing.
