    D&D 5E (2014) Running 5E for two players?

For fast sidekicks, I think Volos Guide has some “classed” NPCs. Statewise it makes it easy to say... Here’s your pal the.... illusionist! Also, don’t don’t don’t do 2 characters per player. Just no.

    D&D 5E (2014) Running 5E for two players?

I wouldn’t do anything. Two characters is awesome. I WOULD adjust MY assumptions while designing adventures or editing a pre-made one. Sure they can have allies and maybe even an NPC along for the ride here and there but they need to be guest stars.

D&D General Improving your online D&D game

If creatures are in the combat but the players aren’t aware of them you can roll their initiative from the GM layer and it adds them into the initiative order without displaying their presence to the players

    D&D 5E (2014) Questions from a DM that's kinda new 5E

    1) if the PC is using a resource I tend to err on the side of “it works”. As others have said though... a guard MAY investigate. I’d give advantage or disadvantage to the appropriate parties. 2)awesome thinking! Again others have had great ideas. Maybe an NPC or two can be paid up front. Upon...

D&D 5E (2014) Simplifying Stealth (and all ability checks, really)

I think the easiest way to simplify skill checks is to only call for one the moment something might happen. You want to stealth up to the window and listen to the secret conversation? Cool. It happens. During the conversation one of the participants gets up from the table and heads towards the...

D&D 5E (2014) What is up with the popularity of watching other D&D groups play the game?

So.... I can’t WATCH people play D&D. I do listen some. Why? Well...a couple reasons. 1) Ideas: In shocking news, other DMs have some GREAT ideas. 2) “watching the tape”: I listen to what calls the DM makes and dissect wether I would make the same/different decision.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Right. Explain that to the parents when little Timmy asks question like... “Mommy... if god is good, and omnipotent AND omniscient.... then why.....” And that type of question arises when you teach logic that EXPLICITLY avoids the topic of religion.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

The issue with teaching critical thinking/basic logic in school(and it should be a required high school course) is that kids then go home and ask their parents questions that their parents are t equipped to answer. Parents get mad, complain.... and there goes critical thinking.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

It’s not that we “got over it” it’s that a very particular group of people sharing a particular political ideology refused to do the bare minimum to protect the lives of other Americans.
