How a ****ing cantrip exterminates an entire school of magic. NO MORE OF THAT!

This has nothing to do with luck... You are suspicious of someone being magically disguised? You cast detect magic...and... voila!

How a ****ing cantrip exterminates an entire school of magic. NO MORE OF THAT!

I'm afraid you are missing the point of my post... entirely. Sorry to say so but this has nothing to do spell casters batting it out. The point is that a 0 level spells gets its way with an entire school of magic. Also note that my suggested houserules do not make the spells you mentioned...

How a ****ing cantrip exterminates an entire school of magic. NO MORE OF THAT!

busted :D You are correct sir. I'll edit that. Yep, but being (probably) a caster he can end this with numerous spells + he can shout directions, Like "Corgan! the one on your left!" or "The middle one!" or "The next to the door!"... players playing before the enemy will get it right easily...

How a ****ing cantrip exterminates an entire school of magic. NO MORE OF THAT!

I just worship the illusion school. Silent Image, Phantasmal Force (AD&D), are my favorite spells. Illusions are, (the way I see it anyway) the epitome of magic. When we say that a wizard can distort reality, illusions are the first thing that spring to my mind. Illusions = Creativity let...

    "(Nystul's) Magic Aura" Question

I was wondering if there was a permanent way of suppressing magical auras on items permanently. Is there some sort of permanent "(Nystul's) Magic Aura spell or effect?

My First Ever d&d post! attempt at warrior vs wizard pvp

No because you can't have an immediate action if you are flat-footed, and until you act you are flat-footed. But I remember reading something about turning into a minotaur (who can't be caught flat-footed) so as to get the immediate action. But what action do you use to turn into a minotaur...

Excuse me for interfering.... but how will you cast Celerity if you've missed initiative?

    Feather Fall When Flat-footed?

I hate immediate actions too, first and foremost because they were introduced in the EPH (*disgusted*), but I believe that all this confusion around it is without reason. Being Flat Footed is ALWAYS a "condition" in respect to something. You are Flat Flat footed either because you are not...

    Help with retro 1E game...

There's one poster you should hang in the room (even though from a different adventure...) But... if you want to be really retro, remove the funny text from the mouth on the poster, and invite some conservative neighbors over while the session room is entirely lit with candles... I mean...

    Feather Fall When Flat-footed?

I guess that at the moment you are aware of the fall (no matter if you've started falling) you cease being flat-footed (in respect to the fall anyway). Being flat-footed is not necessarily an all encompassing condition. You can be flat-footed to one thing, but not to another. After 10 rounds...

    Feather Fall When Flat-footed?

Ohhh... right Feather Fall The addition of immediate actions to the game means that casting feather fall is now an immediate action instead of a free action, since you can cast the spell at any time, even if it’s not your turn. So Hypertext has been updating stuff from the RC??? nice... didn't...

    Feather Fall When Flat-footed?

Hypertext d20 is wrong as far as I can tell... and I knew that something bothered me when I last checked FF... Both errata and the SRD from WotC give a "free action"

    Feather Fall When Flat-footed?

even the errata says "free action"... when did that change?
