13th Age!

That's a good question-- I've gotten a friend interested in 13th Age, but he prefers to buy almost any media through Amazon, so was disappointed when he couldn't find the game on the Amazon site.

I voted "Other"-- for me, it's where the heroic characters of 4E meet class-specific mechanics ala 3E meet streamlined rules and combat meet the character and campaign possibilities of Icons, Backgrounds, and One Unique Thing-- it's hard to choose just one!

Nice list(s)! One small quibble: Shifters are a 4E PH2 Race, and also are prominent in later 4E FR material (Neverwinter Campaign Setting), so they would be in the second list.

This is very close to how I feel about it-- do Next as a BECMI/1E/2E update, tweak 4E (which might include excising feat, power, and item bloat--as well as MM1 era sack-o-HP monsters-- and including Essentials Classes and Hybrids in a new PH1 etc.)... and cede 3.5 to Paizo/Pathfinder.

Yep. Along with fiery/elemental magic, the Sorcerer's armor/weapons emulate the claws/scales of a dragon. Other bloodlines will have other things, that make them play/fight like their kin (I think/hope).
