D&D Movie/TV Should the D&D Movie Been Serious or Not Called D&D?

I don't want to say simply 'no' in response... but.... NO! Focusing on the title of the question: Should the D&D Movie Been Serious - no, thank god it wasn't There is enough serious stuff out there. I wanted to be entertained, my wife (non-DnD player) wanted to be entertained, my three...

Would You Rather Maintain Campaign Theme or Win?

I just published a book of magic items and in the dialogue between the in-game author of the book and their companion this is said between them: I’m quite fond of this one, although I’ll confess it isn’t my favourite of all the wands. There was an old druid who lived near where I grew up, and...

Let's talk about printing & shipping RPG books

I print in the UK using Mixam and if a book run is costing me say £2000 (125-150 books maybe), then the ribbons will likely add £125-£175 to that. That's an approximate but you can see it yourself on their online calculator. It makes the ribbons a considerable expense when you print in small...

Kickstarter The Oracle RPG Magazine 3rd anniversary Kickstarter is here

Three years of publishing a monthly RPG magazine and we are still going strong - well, okay, we really suck at marketing but the people who stumble over us, support us and then read our issues seem to really like them! So, yes, we have been going for three years - and June sees our 37th regular...

D&D General Where is magic prohibited in your world??

I don't have whole regions that outlaw all magic but I do have those that regulate magic. Certain magic isn't allowed - not just things like raising the dead, but teleportation magic or certain magical research relating to familiars etc. I see magic as a technology that is regulated by the...

Would You Rather Maintain Campaign Theme or Win?

Isn't this as simple as player choice? It feels as if the question is assuming that all players will min/max their characters. When I design a character, I'd like them to be capable, but I'm not worried about them being top dogs. Being awesome is about how I roleplay them!
