D&D 5E (2014) The Final Announcement from The Descent Live Stream: Eberron Hardcover

So, I've got a good news/bad news thing here for you. The good news: Mearls, back when he was doing Happy Fun Hour and working on psionics, changed the name from Mystic to Psion. While this wasn't a final, final decision, it seemed like the way they were leaning. The bad news: Mearls was doing...

D&D 5E (2014) The Final Announcement from The Descent Live Stream: Eberron Hardcover

But the book is getting updated. They'll be adding the artificer. They are adjusting the material based on playtest feedback. There's nothing deceptive about that. They even told us at the beginning there might be a complementary hard back later. I really don't understand why this seems...

D&D 5E (2014) The Final Announcement from The Descent Live Stream: Eberron Hardcover

But it doesn't seem counter. It's exactly what they said they would do. If Wayfinders did well they would release a complementary hardback. That's exactly what is happening. And Stewart was 'spoiling' a future release. Sure, I can see why it was annoying to get so little info if you waited...

Ah, citation was easier to find than I thought. Someone already compiled it: https://www.sageadvice.eu/2018/07/27/eberron-will-there-be-a-print-on-demand-option/

D&D 5E (2014) The Final Announcement from The Descent Live Stream: Eberron Hardcover

They have been saying from the beginning that success with the Eberron PDF could lead to a hardcover. They have also said the hardcover would be complementary to the PDF with perhaps a little overlap. The whole idea being to avoid people feeling like they are buying the same thing twice. In...

Bet on Sunday’s ‘surprise’ D&D announcement

At this point I have really no idea what they're going to announce. But I am going to guess that the reveal will be centered around that puzzle box. Yeah I know. It's obvious. But I wanted to make some kind of guess. AD

New D&D Adventure Reveal On 17th May at 'The Descent'

It's true they are testing the Artificer, and this continued interest might mean they are considering a hardcover. But they've stated in the past that the Artificer will be added to the Wayfinders pdf, so, in and of itself, it's not definitive proof of a print book. AD

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk is the official setting for Ghosts of Saltmarsh

Mike Mearls shares your preference, based on an interview awhile back. What that means for the setting when they release it in some form? Who knows. AD

A Look Inside Ghosts of Saltmarsh: Contents, Saltmarsh Map, & More

So, obviously, I don't actually know what they're doing. But the fact that they are keeping Greyhawk back might be seen as an encouraging sign that they intend to provide more robust support for the setting and are waiting to make it available on DMsG so they can time it with the release of that...

A Look Inside Ghosts of Saltmarsh: Contents, Saltmarsh Map, & More

Coincidentally, I recently came across the answer to this on Chris Lindsay's twitter account. https://twitter.com/Onnatryx/status/1123765708549238785 So, Saltmarsh yes. Greyhawk no. Which is very interesting. I wonder what they've got going on there. AD

    D&D 5E (2014) Heroes of Baldur's Gate is a D&D Adventure From Bioware's Baldur's Gate Designer

Just as a note-- There were a series of three modules published for the Time of Troubles, called Shadowdale, Tantras and Waterdeep. I own them. Somewhere. God knows where. AD

Sneak Peek At Ghosts of Saltmarsh Maps

I am largely uninterested in the discussion of whether the orientation of a D&D needs to be north or not . I don't mind one way or the other. Other people do mind. Sort of sums the discussion for me. But it did get me interested in the topic of why maps through history tended to be oriented as...

Arcana of The Ancients: 5E Sci-Fantasy From Monte Cook Games Launches On KS

But going with the 'Every PDF' level is fiscally responsible. It would only be irresponsible to go in at the 'all in' $160 level. Even though that level is turning into a great deal. I am not biased by wanting more people to sign up to hit more stretch goals in any way. Nope. Not me. AD

Arcana of The Ancients: 5E Sci-Fantasy From Monte Cook Games Launches On KS

Indeed. They knocked out the adventure path book as well as a conversion guide pdf of some other Numenera book yesterday. So we're up to four books (not counting deluxe book) and a pdf conversion guide. The next stretch goal is a substantial beefing up of the monster book (from 'over 100...

New D&D Adventure Reveal On 17th May at 'The Descent'

Ah. Well. There you go. I haven't read a Driz'zt novel in a long time. And I agree that D series is probably not next up on their docket. AD
