    Fighting Fantasy

There are well-done d20 conversions of 7 Fighting Fantasy classic gamebooks (search for Myriador), but there is also a ruleset called Advanced Fighting Fantasy (second edition) by Arion Games with various gazetteers and adventures available, including the full Sorcery! campaign.

D&D 5E (2014) Who else uses silver as the currency denominator rather than gold?

I often used silver coins too as a currency basis.

Advanced Fighting Fantasy RPG,,,how does it differ from AD&D?

The differences are massive. Just for a start, you can be an absolute beginner and start an AFF game in 10 minutes: rules are very light and straightforward, highlighting cinematic aspects of your game. The basic mechanics of this ruleset hinge on 2d6 rolls and melees are decided by opposed...

    Journey To...East Africa

I think that Africa as a source of inspiration for adventures has been used very seldom insofar and that it could provide fantastic settings and stories.

Licensed Role-Playing Games: Threat Or Menace?

Hem... on that particular occasion, actually John Carter of Mars wasn't really licensed ;) That's why they had to stop printing that book :D

I think/hope they are shooting themselves on their feet!

Licensed Role-Playing Games: Threat Or Menace?

In general I agree about adventuring in settings where the players already seem to know everything (they become the plot version of the "rule lawyers" or of the metaplotters that alreaydy know every page of the Monsters Book, so they know all the tircks to get rid of the baddies, but not from...

D&D 5E (2014) FAMOUS LAST WORDS: "It wouldn't be here if we weren't supposed to fight it."

I do put overpowred creatures sometimes in the adventures and they are there not to be fought but to be dealt with in other ways. If you are a peasant farmer fighting with a spade and you face a demon or a castle-sized dragon, you should be clever enough to thing twice before charging. Under...

Next RPG to invest in, need some help.

If you want to try rule light systems (lighter than Savage Worlds) and sci-fi settings, I'd suggest having a look at the newly published Stellar Adventures, that work on a simple and straightforward 2d6 engine. An introductory adventure is about to be published as well.

Finally you can get Stellar Adventures, the sci-fi version of AFF.

    Advanced Fighting Fantasy 2nd - AFF2 - Firearms

If you look at the sci-fi version ruleset Stellar Adventures, you can find an optional rule for ranged weapons that moves away from opposed rolls to target.

This time they did it again with the Titan Herbal https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2036759092/titan-herbal?ref=discovery...

Help. I've lost confidence as a GM.

I also recommend running sequences of one-off adventures, so missing one player one night won't make a difference: who will turn up will play, the others won't and perhaps will be back next time with no complication.

Help. I've lost confidence as a GM.

The answer is very simple: this is a game, so if running games doesn't entertain you anymore, but it feels like a burden, just take a long break from GMing and go back to it only when you will feel it's really the right time. This happens to everybody, there's nothing wrong about it. There are...

D&D 5E (2014) What Races (classes) do you allow or disallow in your campaign?

Hello, the races allowed in my games depend totally on the setting. In general, the more time passes, the more I'm restricting them to humans only.

In the above mentioned link there are quite a few introductory freebies that can be useful to understand the setting and how Savage Worlds ruleset is adapted to it.
