    Druid Class question

Humans A human druid could have three at-will beast-form powers, though. The other power would have to be non-beast-form. The key, there, being the "at least one" bit of the sentence. A human druid could have 3 beast and 1 caster, 2 beast and 2 caster, or 1 beast and 3 caster powers. Yay...

D&D 4E Proning/Striking build questions (still somewhat new to 4e)

Thoughts Looks interesting. :) The first thing I noticed was the particular multiclass feat that you chose. Why that one? I'd think Battle Awareness or Student of the Sword would be more applicable. Being a polearm wielder, you won't ever meet the conditions for the benefit from Cyclone...

Nice free Gamma interactive sheet - why don't we got it for D&D?

Link The DnD one would be considerably more complex to implement, I think. Anyhow, I really just replied to include a direct link. Hope that helps. :) I did spot some bugs, I think. At least once, I couldn't get it to calculate one mutant character's reflex with my Dexterity, despite the fact...

    Monster Quiz at Wizards

Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Monster Quiz) Refresh, too, as there are more than the 20 there (though with a lot of overlap). I tended towards 20/20, but a few in the mix tripped me up. I don't know if it's behind the pay wall (edit: It is not.), but it was...

Does Essentials Warpriest lose low level powers?

Missed Something Thanks to the organization of the cleric/warpriest, it is easy to miss. Check the top of page 100: The same verbiage is attached to each of the higher level domain encounter powers (17, 23, and 27 on pages 103, 106, and 107, respectively). This is actually kind of neat, I...

    Class Compendium: Heroes of Legend

Edition shifts There was another side to the power attack change. Light weapons were excluded from use with power attack. That was a problem for a select assortment of characters. I once ran in a (3.0) party where the one of the players had an elf fighter wielding a pair of short swords. He had...

Mixing Earthdawn & Gamma World and D&D4

Race Considerations The Earthdawn major races were dwarf, elf, human, obsidiman, ork, troll, t'skrang, and windling. The first three are pretty obvious, as they are the same types as in the base 4e books. For the dwarfs, I suggest encouraging the +2 strength instead of Wisdom (as per the...

    Class Compendium Official Announcement

Over at the DnD website, they have announced the class compendium book. Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (October News) There is more, but here is a line from the brief release information: ...Class Compendium: Heroes of Sword and Spell. This product compiles...

Making Morrigan Aensland from the Darkstalkers series

More Morrigan But it could be gotten right back with a feat. The problem I see with revenant is the lack of charisma modifier. You could drop the charisma, though, and go for a Con Dex build for warlock monk (neither getting much in the way of real benefit from their secondary abilities). The...

Making Morrigan Aensland from the Darkstalkers series

Making Morrigan I played around in the character builder and came up with (what I hope is) an interesting take: A dragonborn hybrid Sorcerer | Fighter (heavy refluffing on the appearance of the race and on the "breath weapon" as Morrigan's various fighting moves). Take hybrid talent for the...

    Strongheart v. Ironheart Tattoo

My wife's paladin chose Ironheart because she often uses her surges on others through Lay On Hands. In that situation, Strongheart does nada, while Ironheart is still useful. Of course, the character also uses a Cloak of the Walking Wounded; she is likely to waste a few points either way.

    Are wardens overpowered?

Ayup. That's what Aulirophile's sort of saying. Dwarven Armor applies to chain, scale, and plate only, by RAW.

    Winning Races: Half-Elves

Fixed in Compilation These feats now seem to have a "once per encounter" rider. Effortless and Holy both did, at any rate. (Effortless also mentioned "against one creature," I think.) Wild Dilettante also has a prerequisite that you must have chosen an implement power as your dilettante power...

    Ritually Speaking article

I am loving the new Ritually Speaking article ( Ritually Speaking DDI Article ) over at Wizard's. They are all rituals that have no component cost; they just use a magic item as their focus. There are things life "Self-Holding Bag" that lets you fold a Bag of Holding into itself for easy...

    Sorcerous Blade Channelling

It's Situational Not particularly. At least one reason to do this would be so you can engage a foe in melee range without provoking opportunity attacks. That versatility is a plus, whether or not it counts as a melee basic attack. You don't get the proficiency bonus, because you never do on...

    Hybrid Druids

Not technically Technically, the answer is "no." The only powers that (RAW) you can use in beast form are ones with the Beast Form keyword. That being said, in my campaigns (if I had such a character), I would allow it.

    Primal Power oopses

An Ooops That Targeted Assault feat reads differently in the the table. The brief description indicates that it give +2 to attack to creatures marking you, not marked by you. That makes more sense for a Barbarian-requiring feat, too. I think the "marked by" in the main feat text is likely in error.

    Adent Champion. Rules lawyers required

You left one out. I'm sure others would point this out, soon, anyway, but here's another use of the phrase: Note that it also uses the definite "score a critical hit" language, even though it goes on to mention that when you "score a critical hit," you might not actually hit anything. I'm...

    Hire Linae Foster!

I'm all for it I don't know that it would have any effect on the decision-making processes at Wizards of the Coast, but I'm all for Linae being hired back at WotC (assuming she desires the position, of course). She always seemed to be knowledgeable and definitely cool under fire. WotC needs...
