D&D 5E (2014) Converting Druid to Warlock Chassis

Kind of a personal joke. The "Crusade" is converting the Long rest full casters to the Short-rest Warlock Chassis, because I love the Warlock chassis's flexible nature, while still being balanced and interesting. Not so much "fixing" as changing, then adding invocations. My first shot was a...

    D&D 5E (2014) homebrew Cleric Changes discussion

Command undead sounds good, go ahead and make the change. A normal ritual tag should work fine for Restoration, I was just thinking that there might be some unknown (to me) reason that Restoration wasn't a ritual, so the hour casting time might balance that off.

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls Twitter Poll: "The druid gets one of the following: Spellcasting | Shapeshifting | Animal companions. Choose."

It might be for a kind of revised druid, or maybe they are trying out an alternate class like a Shaman, and are using this as a round-about way of asking about it. If druids get X, the other class can get Y and/or Z.

D&D 5E (2014) RAW: Using Hurl Through Hell w/ Eldritch Blast, Chill Touch, Fire Bolt, ... ?

Yes. Do not have the quote, but as a general rule if something requires an "Attack roll" it is an "Attack", and can trigger things that require an attack.

    D&D 5E (2014) homebrew Cleric Changes discussion

Alright, now to think of some general Cleric Gifts, rather than Domain restricted ones. Ritual of Restoration Prerequisite; 3rd level You can cast Lesser restoration as a ritual with a casting time of 10 minutes. Note: Not sure about this one. Seems Cleric-y, but not sure about giving free...

Well, one of my backup characters in iserith 's game is a Dwarf Gunslinger Artificer, so probably.

I am actually finding lately that I like Dwarves more with a Texan/Southern accent. Blasphemy, I know. :)

D&D 5E (2014) Mearls and Thompson (and Crawford) at DigiPen (video)

Good stuff. I did not watch all of the design videos, but I did watch the Diversity set. I would be very interested in seeing their "Art Bible", to see what kind of inspirations they had.

    D&D 5E (2014) Crawford on Stealth

By RAW, yes. That is why intelligent enemies should have torches, or lit hallways and rooms. This of course goes through the filter of GM, as you might decide that hiding means the enemy will attack your last location, so if the player didn't move they will get hit despite being hidden. Also, if...

    D&D 5E (2014) Crawford on Stealth

It resolves one of the main issues I have seen with Passive perception, where you are able to somehow roll lower than Passive, making it the better choice. I personally like passive, and think it works fine. Even more fine with these clarifications. YMMV of course.

A little bit of the UA knight (The one that rides horses) might help, though the Rage doesn't help any with bow attacks. Although, from my limited knowledge of Mongols, they didn't do a lot of "Raging" anyway. It was mostly strategic sweeps with horses and bows, and a lot of Overwhelming numbers...

D&D 5E (2014) Converting Druid to Warlock Chassis

Gonna convert Druid over to Warlock chassis as well, after I get more work done on the Cleric. For now, I have some ideas I want to get down and get input on. Shapeshifting will be for Moon Druids. This is a big one, because of how many levels it affects. 2, 4, 8, 18, and 20th level features...

    D&D 5E (2014) TftYP - Running Sunless Citadel

And the town in general for swinging around my "Bad Reputation" Pirate feature to avoid paying for stuff. The thieves guild only dislikes me for telling them to not rob my friends. Good stuff, altogether.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Get Better At Skills With These Feats

Quite possibly, yes. Not so much the Ritual caster, since that is largely "Magic" rather than a specific class ability. Martial Adept, I would say yes. So many discussion talk about how Battlemaster is the Best fighter, people would immediately cry foul of other classes getting his ability...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Get Better At Skills With These Feats

I doubt it. As a UA, these feats look like they are changing the "Rule", so to speak, that Rogue and Bard get Expertise. It is their class feature, that is one of the main reasons people will dip into them (For char-op reasons anyway.) . If there had been a few examples in the PHB of another way...

Aye, and I am firmly against that particular Niche-protection. Everyone should be able to be an Expert at something, IMO.

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls Twitter Poll: "The druid gets one of the following: Spellcasting | Shapeshifting | Animal companions. Choose."

Thanks to a post on the last page, I now have a Warlock style Druid on my list of things to do. It will have invocations, of course, some of which will be bonuses like you have here. Also probably things like "You can now turn into Fiends as part of your shapeshifting ability." Land druids will...

    D&D 5E (2014) Crawford on Stealth

Passive stealth is more something I would only allow for Rogues, or shadow monks. Kind of a thing where they arre so used to staying quiet that it is their default state. Passive intimidation is easy. Barbarian walks into the room, 9 feet tall with an Orc head stuck to his shoulder spike. Are...
