38 Minis but Sarah Connor Ain't One

The other character minis have faces that resemble the actors. It's possible that Emilia Clarke didn't want them to use her face.

38 Minis but Sarah Connor Ain't One

Terminator Genisys: Rise of the Resistance board game has 38 miniatures including all of the movie's main characters except Sarah Connor! Wtf? I do have an appropriate Sarah Connor-ish mini that could sub in for one of the other player characters if necessary.

    D&D 5E (2014) messy's 5e newbie questions thread

    35. There's no such thing as a double weapon, as far as I know. In 5e, a quarterstaff is "versatile" which means you have the choice of using it one-handed or two-handed. To my mind, when you fight with a quarterstaff you use both ends, and that's just the normal way to do it. 36. I guess so...

D&D General Should a low level character know to burn a troll?

If trolls are a problem for people, at least occasionally, then sure, people would know about trolls and fire, just like they know not to aggravate a skunk. If no-one in the local region has seen a troll in the last 50 years, then no, most people wouldn't know. Just like people in some parts of...

WOIN Some house rules we're playing with

In our game we haven't been taking advantage of the 2d6 called-shot options very much, but I do regularly take -2d6 to shoot into melee. Maybe we just need to pay more attention to the available options, now that we've mastered the basic rules. That's not a rule already? It's on your errata...

    Dice Questions?

It's been a long time since I took a stats course, but I think a good basic statistical test would be a Kolmogorov–Smirnov test to compare a die's results to a uniform random distribution. That's not difficult but it takes some basic familiarity with statistics.

Shadowrun Sixth World Core Rulebook Review

You could say the same of D&D adventurers who do nothing but run dungeons. Sure, they get XP and level up, but nothing else changes. That is, unless their adventures are part of a bigger story. There's no reason that PCs can't take part in world-shaking storylines in Shadowrun, just like in...

WOIN O.L.D. Spells & Skills Question

According to the rules you can use multiple magic skills to cast a spell (to combine two or more different effects): My question is, how many skill dice do you get for a spell using two skills? Is it the sum of the two skills, or the greater of the two, or the lesser?

Shadowrun Sixth World Core Rulebook Review

Heh, yeah. You could use a different system and keep the setting. We've played a Shadowrun campaign using Savage Worlds rules, or you could use Morrus' own W.O.I.N. N.E.W. for example.

WOIN W.O.I.N. Exploit to improve Vital Defense?

W.O.I.N. O.L.D. & N.O.W. (but not N.E.W.) have exploits that give a permanent +2 to either Melee, Ranged or Mental Defense, but there's no exploit that gives +2 to Vital Defense. Should there be?
