    D&D General Non-European Campaigns?

Looking at the Deities & Demi-Gods and I'm wondering if any of you have ever made a campaign based around other regions of the globe? I always wanted to do a sword & sandals* campaign but never got around to do it. I'm a big fan if the old Sinbad, Clash of Titans and Greek mythology movies...

    A Mythic Earth

Looking at my Penguin Atlas of Ancient History I find the era around 560 (before Christ) interesting. Use of metal has spread very far. The Greeks have spread far and wide. The Babylonians control all of Turkey and the fertile lands (not yet the Persian Empire). The Medes have a large empire...

[Osprey Games] Romance of the Perilous Land

Received the hard copy today. It's digest size. Strong binding. The font size is a bit small but since the spacing between the line is wide it remains easy to read. A lovely book. Happy with my purchase. I rolled my first four characters. Will start the adventure blog any day now.

[Ares Games] Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles

They come with a unique ship profile, pilot, talents, gear. A set of movement cards. It's not like Star Wars. There isn't a myriad of ships and factions. I view it as a casual game that packs a punch.

    [GMT Games] Space Empires 4X

When I feel the urge to play an old school counter and hexes games I take out my Space Empire 4x box by Jim Krohn. You get to explore, expand, exploit and exterminate. What I like about this game is that you can play it solo. The Doomsday Machine and the Alien Empire scenarios are designed to...

[Ares Games] Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles

As a fan you should definitely buy it. I'm very happy with it. I plan to buy the Apollo Viper MK VII, the Starbuck Cylon Raider. I already bought a pack of four extra control panels, the Boomer Raptor and the Cylon Heavy Raider Combat/Transport. Also, you should know they will put out the...

[Ares Games] Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles

This hobbyist in me couldn't resist. I painted the text and important info on the panels and bases in yellow or white.

Worlds of Design: The Four Laws of Character Death

Yep! From the get go in 1980. We didn't want our characters to die. We wanted reach the highest levels and live the greatest adventures! The game killed our characters with random death rolls. So we changed the game or stopped using the rules that randomly killed out characters. Character death...

2020 Pogre's Miniatures and Models - Sebeki from Crocodile Game and a Wild Boar

Great work. I've resisted buying a 3D printer. I think I will do that in 2021.

[Ares Games] Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles

I bought this game in 2019 and played several games. The starter set is loaded with stuff and offers a lot of replayability thanks to the pilot cards, talents and flaw cards and tech cards. A much better starter experience than X-Wing. I called it starter but this is a full game by itself...

D&D 5E (2014) What would you want in a new 5E box set?

People collect miniatures. Interest in miniatures is always high. More so with wargamers. My friend who owns a store as not seen a decrease in sales. The players are assembling and painting more now that they are quarantined, since they cannot play.

D&D 5E (2014) 5e most conservative edition yet? (In terms of new settings)

That is correct. MtG and other CCGs monopolized a large portion of gamer's income post 94. I didn't like MtG. I played Middle Earth by I.C.E. (1995) instead. Much more immersive. I totally missed the publication of Altertiny because of CCGs. I was in the card bubble. Normally I would have bought...

D&D General The Renewing Charm of the Old School Play Experience

One thing I really liked about older editions is that we used squares in the dungeon and hexes for wilderness. Also, range for spells and range attacks tripled, going from feet to yards IIRC. I used hexes with 5e for wilderness. I have nice Battletech colour maps.

D&D 5E (2014) What would you want in a new 5E box set?

We don't «play» with our miniatures. We use them to indicate the position of each combatant. We don't care who moves them. I play low tech Pen & Paper & Skype. No need to draw maps and import counters on Roll20. Saves me time for something else.

D&D 5E (2014) What would you want in a new 5E box set?

If they do it I want a 5% royalty on each box for the idea. :D:D:D

D&D 5E (2014) What would you want in a new 5E box set?

Not really. I use miniature in my Skype games. My camera points at a play mat and I move the models during combat.

Hey, guys I know I don't own this thread but I would appreciate it if you started a thread about simultaneous initiative and what it entails. It is a very interesting topic and I think others would have good input. ;)
