D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

That's what I was planning; both Hyenas and both Gnolls in that section of the map. If you need me to start centering on intersections instead of actual squares, just let me know and I can state it that way. Otherwise, I can always say "I'm covering this section of the map" when it comes up again.

My wild surge check rolls didn't work in the IC thread, so I'm rolling them here. I'll link back to this post so you can see the results. [roll0] [roll1]

[D&D 5E] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr (IC)

Boddynock was enjoying the slow, even pace of the rocking cart on the path. He was half-listening to the jokes Gnorth was telling the whole way; his favorite so far was one about a giant that got squashed by a boulder, but the punchline didn't stick with him long enough to remember why he liked...

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

I'll state that whatever you decide I'm good with. I know that it will impact not only us but the bad guys as well, so we're all going to be using the same rules. And this really only affects those spells that aren't cubes or squares, so I'm not sure how much of an impact it will have with the...

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

That's how I view things as well; movement across any square is 5 feet, unless other issues force it to be more (like moving through an occupied square for a non-hostile doubles movement through that square, as an example).

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

I fail to see how moving diagonally could take up 10 feet and not 5. If each square is 5 ft x 5 ft, then it's 2.5 feet from any point along it's sides to the center. If you move 2.5 feet from the center of one square to its corner, then move 2.5 feet from that corner into the middle of the...

[D&D 5E] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr (IC)

Boddynock listens to Brue, the events of what happened in the main hall but a distant memory that he won't even dwell upon in his dreams. The words of the warrior are intriguing, and he pays very close attention to the details she gives about the staff and the treaty and the Elves. Elves were...

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

Oh. I guess I missed it in your post. I saw the statement "I'd guess I'd probably rule no" and thought you meant no to the whole thing. Thanks for the clarification though! Looks like Witch Bolt is here to stay!

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

See, the whole problem with the wording of both the scroll and the MetaMagic feats is the word "Casting". I understand about not being able to use MetaMagic with staves and rods because the description of the item doesn't state that you are casting the spell. Scrolls are a different story here...

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

Yeah, the more I read spells, the more I dislike some of them. Question: Could I use Distant Spell with a spell scroll to double the range, thereby making Witch Bolt 60 feet? It's rare when someone can get more than 60 feet away from someone in a single turn, assuming I was standing almost...

    D&D 5E (2014) [5E][OOC] Across the Faerun-iverse

With all the water and the lack of light, there would be no tracks that you could see. Good question though.

When Lorenzo uses his given name, Boddynock just holds his hands up for a moment. "No need to be so formal. You can just call me Schepp."

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

Then it looks like I'm swapping out Identify! Which isn't a big deal; if it has to be on the list of sorcerer spells, then it has to be on that list. So I'll switch that out for...hmmm...so many choices here... Witch Bolt. Assuming the hit is successful, I'd be cool with doing an automatic...

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

Yeah, I read through the rules on spell scrolls before deciding on getting one. The full text from page 139: The last sentence is the key phrase in this: Any creature that can understand a written language can read a spell scroll. I don't see anything in the write-up that indicates the...

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

And I'm going to take you up on that. 1st level spell scroll for 100. I'm then going to purchase a backup focus (staff; 5 gp), an extra diamond for chromatic orb (50 gp; incorporated into the focus), and a potion of healing (50 gp per the equipment list in the PHB). That leaves me with...5...

    D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Egon's Lost Mine of Phandelver

The goblin's corpse is dropped down to Endurance, who catches it easily. Keira then makes her way back down to Endurance herself, the wall still slimy or watery, but not hindering her in any way. 1E Monk action! Drop within several feet of a wall and take no damage! Ok, so it's not really...

    D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Actually, after careful consideration, I'm going to bow out of this one. Seems I've got my hands a bit full with my own LMoP campaign PLUS being in FF's Tethyr campaign. Sorry guys, but I don't want to lag behind and feel lost (like I'm beginning to already).

[D&D 5E] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr (IC)

Boddynock had always had a problem keeping up with the long-shanks of the world. His little legs would only carry him so fast, and it seemed he was outpaced everywhere he went. Even now, when Rowena had indicated that they would all travel together, it seemed that everyone had left without...

D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

So, I'm trying to get all that lovely loot our GM gave us, and here's what I've got so far: Background + 15 GM Grant + 500 Herbalism - 250 Herbalism Kit - 5 50 GP Diamond - 50 That leaves me with 210 gold. I only need one diamond for Chromatic Orb - the spell doesn't indicate...
