Tell me about STAR WARS: EDGE OF EMPIRE

What roleplaying game is complete? ;) I understand why they did this, and I personally like the approach they've taken. Instead of trying to skim over the whole Star Wars galaxy, they've taken what I find to be a very in-depth look at 1/3rd of it. I'm not one who normally likes to play in those...

Tell me about STAR WARS: EDGE OF EMPIRE

That may be true, but it looks like players are expected to get 20-30xp per session, so that can add up quickly.

Tell me about STAR WARS: EDGE OF EMPIRE

Full list Species: Bothans, Droids, Gands, Humans, Trandoshans, Rodians, Twi'leks, Wookies Droids are the most customizable of all the species in the game, and they receive extra experience to reflect that fact. However, all of a droid's characteristics start at 1, which means the extra...

Tell me about STAR WARS: EDGE OF EMPIRE

Actually... rather large... larger than I expected. Six "classes" each with three specializations. However, the specializations are in some cases VERY different from those in the same class. For example, under "Colonist" one can be a Doctor, Politico, or Scholar, which are all quite different...

Tell me about STAR WARS: EDGE OF EMPIRE

Well... I can think of at least twice where a main character gets hit with a blaster bolt: Luke on Jabba's Sailbarge, and Leia on Endor. While it obviously hurt both of them, and Leia's hit may have even been a mild critical strike, the current game mechanics would emulate this well. Mooks go...

Tell me about STAR WARS: EDGE OF EMPIRE

I think you might be missing something here. I've only just read the rules in the free rpg day release, as well as having glanced at the Core Rulebook today. In the game, the players are largely exceptional, and they face down 3 types of opponents: minion, rival, and nemesis. Most of the blaster...

    SWEotE. So, who's got it?

I saw it today at my LGS... Although I didn't pick it up as I had come for something else. It looks really good, and since I had picked up the free rpg day Shadows of a Black Sun, I decided to give it a good read tonight. I've downloaded the dice app and going to get the book ASAP. While I am...

D&D 4E What level is your 4e game? (Poll)

Mine is currently 4th, nearly 5th in an up scaled Reavers of Harkenwold. I'm planning to transition to Madness at Gardmore Abbey at the end of this, when the players should be 6th. We started with Keep on the Shadowfell, which moved the players from 1st to 4th (just).

    my 3D terrain, recent builds

Some of the terrain in those first pictures look like they're from TerrainClips. Is that right? Neat heavy cardstock dungeon scenery... I'm presuming the other build-ups are using pink styrofoam?

Looking for a mini for a spiked shield fighter

    Here's a few tries: http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/02922 http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/03104 http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/03317 http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/03348 That's to start. I'll see what else I can find...

    Developing a Miniatures Library

A recent article on my blog does a step-by-step for the Goblins and Hobgoblins... but it doesn't show pictures of them in progress. I've done step-by-step pictures in the past, but usually for some of my Warhammer 40,000 Orks. Since D&D Orcs are grey skinned and have a different physical build...

    Developing a Miniatures Library

Thanks for the comments so far. I have a few more pictures to share. Dannyalcatraz: Your list is very helpful in building a library, and I'm going to keep it handy. I will need it moving forward, as virtually everything you've mentioned shows up at some point or another. I have several spiders...

    Developing a Miniatures Library

Hey all, I've labelled this as AnyDnD even though I am currently running a 4e campaign with my recently re-constituted high school D&D group. After 20-25 years away from it, we got back together about a year ago and started playing D&D on a monthly basis. Life doesn't really let us get together...

D&D 4E Campaign brainstorming 4e point of light setting

I'm currently running a campaign in the Nentir Vale. I started off with Keep on the Shadowfell for various reasons, but since I had given one of my guys a history with the Iron Circle from the MV: Threats to the Nentir Vale, I knew I had to do Reavers of Harkenwold to pull in the character's...

Is This How it is Supposed to Be?

My group gets together once every month, as we are all 40-somethings that reunited a year ago to play 4e. The combats can be draggy as we are still learning the system., but I try to add some urgency of pacing to it. We are playing an up scaled Reavers of Harkenwold now, as we started with Keep...

Nentir Vale Map - Pete Fenlon Style

When you say a player version, I am assuming one that is simply not marked? I have about 3 different versions that I've created, one fully labelled, one with no labels at all, and one that I have partially labelled according to what my players already know. So in a sense, it's already done. :)

    D&D 4E best 4e adventures?

I will also put in a pitch for "Reavers of Harkenwold" which is included in the Essentials Dungeon Master's Kit box. Excellent adventure. I've had to upscale mine as I'm doing it as a follow-on to Keep on the Shadowfell, and as such, my guys are now 4th level. Reavers is a nice contrast to...

Painting Miniatures for Reavers of Harkenwold

Just a quick addendum. I've discovered that I have enough crossbows and even some scimitar-like blades from other kits to convert about 5-6 of the Precursor Knights to Brigands, so I may not need to use the bottom set of figures. I'll just need to get more of the precursor knights to round out...

Painting Miniatures for Reavers of Harkenwold

Hi Everyone, I'm an old(er) gamer (43), and the guys from my old high school D&D group has recently gotten back together after a 25 year hiatus. We've been playing 4th edition, and enjoying it immensely. The next time we get together, we'll be playing the encounter with Kalarel at the end of...

Village of Albridge - Expanded Map for Reavers of Harkenwold

Thanks for the XP and comments. The idea is for my group to have a larger map to plan strategy for the battle of Albridge, while at the same time having some farms on the map that look like the folded and unfolded steading map on which these battles are supposed to take place. If you look...
