I feel the exact same way. Although I have found that as I increase in level it becomes harder to resist casting other spells instead of hex. Last night was the first time I didn't cast hex in a game (Fly-REST- Fireball, Misty Step)

If you're worried about treating a person like a thing, then have the thing starting acting like a person. D&D is a great way to teach interpersonal skills with kids.

I went that route until 5th level warlock. It's real easy to be out of spells after the 1st round of combat. Not that it's a bad thing.....

Do you really need GWF? That's like a 1/2 point extra in damage right at the cost of 2 or 3 in AC? I do like that the Warlock/Fighter has three "good" choices for fighting style. GWF +1/2 point damage Duelist 1/2 point less damage but +2 AC (shield) Defense Either -2.5 damage and +4 AC or...

I think that's the players need to adapt to the world philosophy and opposed to the world needs to adapt to the players.

The Lair Actions are independent. They just go on 20. It doesn't "cost" the dragon anything and happens independently from the dragon's iniative turn.

That's what we do. Maybe it makes the bard a little better but it's cool with us.

If it's an OR, it's gonna only help the wizards. If it's an AND, it may cause people to not totally dump INT. If it's ONLY, than that's a game changer. I think it is a neat twist.
