    D&D 5E (2014) Ghouls and Ghasts

The Bear doesn't make any sense. The ghould and carrion crawler have "good reasons".

    D&D 5E (2014) Ghouls and Ghasts

The Brown Bear has to be a mistake. I kinda like the ghouls don't get PB on the bite. I am digging the few "flavor" exceptions. I like neat formulas but outliers are cool if they make sense.

D&D 5E (2014) Spells: the Good, the Bad, and the Downright Orcish Grandmother

Witch Bolt seems like a cool Legendary Action or Lair Attack for a Storm Giant or Kick Ass Behir or something....just saying.

    D&D 5E (2014) How would adjust a monster's CR for 4 levels of exhaustion?

I would say -2. The speed really doesn't matter and the DC's won't change but it's gonna miss alot.

    D&D 5E (2014) How would adjust a monster's CR for 4 levels of exhaustion?

This. An Ogre with 1/2 movement, disadvantage and 1/2 HP goes from like a CR 2 to a 1 or 1/2. A 9th level caster with the ability to mask its weaknesses with spells might only drop 1 CR or none at all...

    AD&D 2E Looking for a 2e adventure to run for 5e

Lords of Darkness is what I was thinking of. I also REALLY liked running the Mere of Dead Men series of Dungeon that ruleslawyer reccomended.

    D&D 5E (2014) Ghouls and Ghasts

Is there an explanation somewhere about why Ghouls and Ghasts don't use their profiency bonus on their bite attacks? The Ghoul is +4 with its claws but only +2 on its bite. Both attacks appear to use dex as the ability modifier and do +2 damage. Why the difference in to hit?

    AD&D 2E Looking for a 2e adventure to run for 5e

There was a book put out in the style of Book of Lairs but only had undead. I think they were set in the FR. It might be 1E. I ran a number of them over the years and enjoyed them.

D&D 5E (2014) Fun with the Monster Manual - Monster-a-Day in your Setting

The mines of <insert name here> were always been a valued commodity. Copper, tin, iron, it seemed like these mines produced it all. The <insert civilization name here> for years ran them with mechanical precision. Everyone knows that. What everyone doesn't know is that in the bowels of...

D&D 5E (2014) Spells: the Good, the Bad, and the Downright Orcish Grandmother

Bless has been a HUGE benefit for my low level party. The melee characters are all +5 to hit so the extra d4 makes us roughly 50% likely to hit. The average combat for us has between 2-4 misses become hits when bless is up.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dumping your Warlock Patron

I have a character who chose the "FIEND" patron as a warlock. As the game progressed, I have had a change of heart and will now become a Paladin of Bahumut. The two don't really jive well..... My DM is gonna let me just keep the powers and have Bahumut grant me them to me but my question...

D&D 5E (2014) Do monks get enough Ki?

Our groups 3rd level monk isn't complaining about not enough KI points. The Warlock's have noticed the 2 spell slot restriction but the monk hasn't voiced one word yet.

    It's cool and fun?

D&D 5E (2014) How Deadly is a "deadly" encounter, on average?

    1. The encounter building guidelines work well for my group. 2. There are rules for larger parties in there. I am paraphrasing but I think they use the value multiplier one slot lower. 3. I have found that a group can combat a CR one level higher. I only have experience below 5th level...

D&D 5E (2014) Rogue Warrior with an axe

All the OP wants to do is use his axe as a d4 weapon. He could actually draw a dagger and attack with it in the same round. It's the exact same thing. What;s the difference between drawing a dagger and using your axe like one?

D&D 5E (2014) Rogue Warrior with an axe

How is it any different than drawing a dagger and attacking? Mechanically it is EXACTLY the same.

D&D 5E (2014) Rogue Warrior with an axe

The OP isn't trying to reroll damage he just wants to use his axe as d4 weapon so he can sneak attack.

D&D 5E (2014) Rogue Warrior with an axe

Its a super versatile weapon! D4 D8 or D10! I don't see the big deal, it's no different than drawing a dagger ( which is free now right?).

D&D 5E (2014) Fun with the Monster Manual - Monster-a-Day in your Setting

Two AARAKOCRA groups: Black Feather's Air Pirates- Black Feather is a renown air pirate, leading his band of 20 or so AARAKOCRA and other avain creatures on raids of land and sea trade vessels. Black Feather often uses small air elementals in his attacks to distract and confuse while his...

    D&D 5E (2014) Encounter Building with a 7 player party

I run a 7 player game. I use the rules for encounter building, the fights are a little soft but not a lot.
