D&D 5E (2014) Wild Beyond the Witchlight Previews

A 5E faerie is 2 1/2 feet to 3 feet tall. Sure it is not Tinkerbell pixie small but it is not 1e elf size. Gnomes, goblins, and halflings should be more fey-like in my opinion, so having expressly small size faeries is a win for me. Plus, once you hit 5th level you can cast Reduce 1/long rest...

D&D 5E (2014) Crown of Madness not as bad in play as it seems

Crown of Madness is a very thematic spell. It makes the PC (or NPC) caster a puppet master or a font of insanity. The spell is situational but very cool to show the horror of Enchantment.

D&D 5E (2014) Wild Beyond the Witchlight Previews

The image of the toady hag, Bavlorna, burping out little clones to spy and do her bidding like tiny, evil Ashes in Army of Darkness is hilarious. Plus, Bullywugs! I am so happy.

    D&D 5E (2014) A reptilian world?

I love the idea of a reptilian world, but the thought of just swapping out regular D&D races for scaly analogs is really wasteful of the concept.

D&D General How to design fairies without them looking like tiny humans with bug wings?

I like plant/flower fairies but I am warming to Moth folk for fairies. Disney has some good plant examples, either Fantasia or Alice in Wonderland. Having the fairies dismissing the players as 'Weeds' is always fun. Or moth-y

    D&D 5E (2014) So Much Witchlight Art!

The art is fantastic for this release. Mike Lim's work has been fantastic and I can't wait to see more from him. I loved his Zombie T-rex piece in Tomb of Annihilation, but these character studies of the LJN characters are just awesome.

D&D 5E (2014) Chris Perkins talks more in depth about Wild Beyond the Witchlight

I am excited for Skabatha's Guide to the Domains of Delight in the future. There is a lot to unpack from this info dump with Chris and Todd. I am hopeful that Wild Beyond the Witchlight is as well constructed as Curse of Strahd. The Rules of the Realm will be a neat twist. I look forward to...

D&D 5E (2014) In defense of my post....

Tabletop roleplaying game storylines, whether in classic heroic fantasy system like Dungeons & Dragons or horror RPGs like Vampire: The Masquerade, can cover a wide variety of topics - some light-hearted, others touching on mature themes like violence, sex, gore, abuse, war-time casualties, or...

D&D 5E (2014) In defense of my post....

Ah, another acolyte of all press is good press... This post reads like a pick-up artist manifesto from the 2000s. The Shame and Plead. This Kickstarter is all over the place. You have an EPIC Mini-adventure (a little oxymoronic), a video, music, screensaver battle maps, and a printable miniature...

D&D 5E (2014) Wild Beyond the Witchlight Collector's Edition Miniatures Will Set You Back $750!

The sculpts for the framework miniatures are beautiful. I can see the beholder being out of stock very quickly, but the orcs are nothing special. I imagine there will be many packs that will occupy shelves in FLGS for years at this price point. They will look lovely next to the Warlock terrain...

Wotc Is Sponsoring A Football Team

This is interesting. Premier League sponsorship would be lost in the noise of huge ad campaigns. Leyton Orient is followed by locals and would be easier to spot an upward trend in local game purchasing and involvement. I am curious how many football fans are itching to hit the local games club...

Let's Have a Peek At TRANSFORMERS and GI JOE!

Two weeks back I stopped in a shop in Lake Placid that had GI Joe No1 in mint condition for sale. I loved that series. I loved the cartoon in all it's campy glory for different reasons. I am very much looking forward to E20 GI Joe. Now I need a Thundarr the Barbarian RPG and my nostalgic self...

Essence20: The New RPG System Which Powers Hasbro Licensed Games

Hi Elisa! The system sounds interesting. Cascading dice, as opposed to exploding dice, is a cool system. I am more interested in the GI Joe and Transformers RPGs than Power Rangers, but I am excited to see an outside design group expanding what 5E can do. Plus, I like Kids on Bikes, so I have...
