    D&D 5E (2014) Please Support Eberron!

I am a HUGE fan of Eberron! Donating and standing up and being counted and voting with my (ten) dollars! I would love a 5e campaign setting book (it would be my third!) I agree with the historical Five Nations-centricity of previous books and expansions, and would love to see more depth in...

D&D 5E (2014) Would you rebuy all the books if they were updated?

A "5.5e" version similar to a 3.5e would be my absolute upper limit. I would buy a revised PHB (naybe even MM and DMG) every two years if it included: Corrected typos Format issues Rules clarifications Even smll rules changes, based on actual in-play feedback. At least ~30% new art Any version...

D&D 5E (2014) I LOVE 5th Editon... BUT... (Why No Simple Table of Rituals?) And Other Little Quibbles.

I would like to posit a scenario. 5th edition has been released in an era of technology social connectivity. Part of the rollout has specifically taken modern accessibility into account. If you are pretty sure, the moment you release your Player's Hamdbook, that someone is going to create a...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Eberron dragonmarks?

So, in both 3e and 4e, Eberron dragonmarks are mechanically represented withfeats. In 5e, not only are feats optional, but you don't get one until 4rh level (1st if you're human and lucky). I'm starting an Eberron xampaign yestetday. Any dragonmark ideas? One) All characters get a bonus feat...

D&D 5E (2014) What are YOU doing for monsters until MM release?

I just ran a couple sessions of the ol' Sunless Citadel, and honestly hardly modified any stats at all (primarily rats, kobolds, and goblins, not to mention the water mephit that they simply ran from') I normalized skill checks to either 10 or 15, depending on difficulty, and kept the same hit...

D&D 5E (2014) Is it just me or does it look like we are getting the "must have feats" once again?

Bringing it back to the original post... Yes, it is just you. There's a difference between "mandatory" feats to simply be effective, and/or requiring multiple feats to be effective - and not requiring feats to be at least effective or having one feat realize a character concept. A baseline...

D&D 5E (2014) Legends and Lore July 28: Keeping it Classy

Although I agree with you that Abjurers and Diviners have perhaps been the least effective choices, this is the characyer I've always wanted to play! I have a feeling that the 5e Abj/Div will be a lot more "balanced" with the other schiols than in earlier incarnations....

    D&D 5E (2014) Second guessing WOTC

Starter Set > Beginner Box for WotC's purposes and goals. I cannot exactly put my finger on it, but WotC's amount of inspiration and flexibility for the DM, while still holding to concrete rules, is a far better value foe the money.

D&D 5E (2014) Legends and Lore July 28: Keeping it Classy

Extremely excited. Although I could have guessed the individual subclasses, the half-sentence depictions were actually... Inspiring. Whoever wrote/edited/refined this PH(B) did an amazing job. My one sad thought: a diplomatic, fast-talking merchant rogue subclass. Who remembers Silk, from...

    D&D 5E (2014) Overchanneling and Cantrips

The question is not, "How much damage do I take if I use overchannel on a cantrip once, twice, five, ten times...?" The question is, "How much damage do I take after overchannelling cantrips ten or twenty times, then overchannel magic missile..." ;-)

D&D 5E (2014) Starter set being shipped early in Canada

This makes me unexpectedly, irrationally, happy. I got introduced to D&D right before 3E was released. And the Sunless Citadel was the first adventure I ever DM'd.

D&D 5E (2014) Too much bickering about 5e, let's get down to what matters.

I voted, but I mostly just want to commend the OP for having a truly binary poll. Your answer now, at this moment, is either yes or no: votr accordingly. If you don't know: don't vote. Much like an actual election. Finally a poll that's actually informative!

Replacing the human "+1 all" bonus...

I absolutely recognize the silliness of house rules before any portion of the game is ofdicially released. But I want to start a game next week, with the release of Basic and the Starter, and the "+1 all" to Abilities for Humans is a pet peeve of mine. So, here's a thread for ideas and...

D&D 5E (2014) Absolutely Clear on Definition of Basic D&D

I've seen various comments from the WotC website, Mike Mearls' twitter feed, and Morrus' news updates.... So when, exactly, will Basic D&D be available, and what does Basic D&D encompass? From what I gather, Basic will be available on the WotC website on July 3rd. Is this genuinely correct...

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Unboxing Starter Set Video is on Youtube

You are incorrect. First, the cost is: several hours worth of short rests. Second, fighters, and all PCs, get more out of a long rest, no? And there is nothing, mechanically, preventing any group from taking a long rest after every encounter. It is the responsibility of the group, and the...

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Unboxing Starter Set Video is on Youtube

My favorite part is that so many are yelling about "designers publishing broken rules" or whining about "fighters healing to full in 3 hours" but no one can actually say why it's even broken. Because it's not.
