D&D General Nolzur creates inclusive miniatures, people can't handle it.

Well that's because the only case I've seen of someone wanting to use any of these rules is an able bodied person wanting to use the spider chair in Cyberpunk Red, and I suspect most likely for the unbalanced reasons I've mentioned.

D&D General Nolzur creates inclusive miniatures, people can't handle it.

Which is kind of my point, I think presenting these rules they aren't going to be suitable for everyone but they can make a useful starting point for a discussion between the GM and player at a table where that sort representation matters to that player. Exactly a one size fits all response...

No my lesson from that is one can, with the right support (which may or may not be a magic wheelchair), sorry if that wasn't clear.

D&D General Nolzur creates inclusive miniatures, people can't handle it.

I think if you want a better idea of a wheelchair user "off road" this BBC video about a nature program researcher who uses a wheelchair is better. Which shows generally he needs an assistant (sometimes two), specialist equipment, and occasionally there are still places where it just isn't...

Yes in real life people do amazing things but they are still on smooth ramps, so ideal conditions for wheels, unlike the typical adventuring locations.

    D&D 5E (2024) Elves without racism [+]

Can't have penalties in the new D&D it makes people sad.

D&D General Nolzur creates inclusive miniatures, people can't handle it.

Which is unfortunate, because when fantasy wheelchairs are introduced there are often real issues with verisimilitude and game balance. Wheelchairs are introduced to be inclusive, so folks in wheelchairs can have a self insert type character into the fantasy setting, which is clearly a good...

    D&D 5E (2024) Elves without racism [+]

True but a culture-wide animosity is pretty common and species and culture have been pretty much the same thing in D&D. Could easily come from your character's culture. If you are going to have cultures in the PHB why not also have negative aspects of those cultures?

    D&D 5E (2024) Elves without racism [+]

Biologically it makes sense, but I thought the whole point of these "Mytrals" was to get away from biology and make abilities come from the culture, not their biology?

So if they were part of a Wood Elf community they would only be able to get one of the two Mythal traits.... so they would be sort of a half-elf? Erm....

Ah so to be one of the traditional elves, you are taxed your background feat to get what you would have got previously?

    D&D 5E (2024) Elves without racism [+]

I mean, if literally every race in Warhammer can be racist and it not be a problem, I don't know why D&D has an issue with a little bit of racial animosity between dwarves and elves.

    D&D 5E (2024) Elves without racism [+]

If you offer a mechanical benefit for being “raised by elves” and no drawback it stops being a fun character concept and becomes a optimisation build requirement. You can’t have a system like this in isolation. There need to be similar “cultural” benefits for other species, that they lose if...

    D&D 5E (2024) Elves without racism [+]

Agreed but we aren't describing humans though. Just want to be clear under this system anyone on can gain two extra Mythral abilities just by claiming to be "raised by elves" in their background.

    D&D 5E (2024) Elves without racism [+]

Nothing wrong with creatures having racist attitudes in fantasy, as long as they are treated as harmful and wrong. Bad guys can be bad.

    D&D 5E (2024) Elves without racism [+]

Yeah they are a culture but they are also an ethnic group within the same species. You are saying nothing comes from their ethnicity it is all from their culture? So a Goliath raised by Wood Elves, would pick up the Moon and Roam Mythral abilities on top of their normal species ones?

Danger Gal Dossier Does Double Duty

Far from small, R.Talsorian Games has been publishing Cyberpunk since 1988, the video game is based on the RPG not the other way round. Cyberpunk Red is effectively a 4th edition of the setting, there was Cyberpunk set in 2013 (had about five supplements before it was updated), with Cyberpunk...

WotC Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer Is A New UK Magazine To Teach D&D

Interesting as their dedicated website Home - Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer makes no mention of miniatures for the premium subscription just coins. So I guess that idea has been ditched. Their main site shows the first issue is out of stock Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer | Hachette Partworks and...
