    D&D 5E (2014) Epic Monsters: Mad Hatter

I like this. An issue with the original is that an awful lot of stuff can happen between two turns. As you say, there could be a lot of bookkeeping. This is more elegant. But are you both confusing round with turn? Remember that a turn can be an Action, a Bonus action, a Reaction, a move, or a...

    D&D 5E (2014) Hagspawn for 5e [PEACH]

You could go for the Centaur's Hybrid Nature. Don't forget the Monstrous Humanoid trait making them immune to Charm Person et al. Perhaps the OP should tone that and Magic Resistance both down to Magic Resistance vs Enchantment spells only? I'd rate this more valuable as it's 3 points on...

    D&D 5E (2014) Epic Monsters: Mad Hatter

Could you simplify Here and There by saying that all attack rolls against the Mad Hatter are made with Disadvantage?

D&D 5E (2014) Cantrip nerf (house rule brainstorm)

Except for Warlocks with Agonising Blast. And don't forget that cantrips are magic, so not subject to the same resistances. And some cantrips (e.g. Chill Touch) have secondary effects.

    D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Pitching the Reboot

D&D had fungus-men - myconids - long before Games Workshop.

    D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Pitching the Reboot

Just to continue this, advancing a couple of hundred years allows for the presence of tieflings in the former Lands of Iuz and Aerdy / Ahlissa. You can also have dragonborn who have crossed from the other side of the Sea of Dust or have come up from Zindia. Something else: in 'present-day'...

    D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Pitching the Reboot

I think we've done this before. Anyway, I would take the conceit of Pluffet Smedger and make it real. The year is now 800-odd CY. Lands have consolidated and changed. Iuz has become a full god and left Oerth but his legacy remains. Perhaps his lands are ruled by the lich-queen High Priestess...

The Ecology of the Phasm (unpublished 3.5 "Ecology" article)

There are plenty more monsters out there! I do appreciate the change in tone from the more comedic Monster Hunters.

D&D General What Have You Commissioned?

    D&D 5E (2014) Caster items in Tasha's, a very good start.

I see they're riffing off Rolemaster with items containing spell lists.

    D&D 5E (2014) Wizards planning a change to lycanthropes?

For PCs, I don't like the idea of regeneration. It's just too powerful for only one PC to have it. If you want to model 'only killed by silver' then simply make it that if the PC is reduced to 0 HP a failed Death Save Throw has no effect - the PC doesn't pass the DST - unless the wound was...

    D&D 5E (2014) A Year of Downtime

Do they want to engage in those activities? If they are the rulers of Elturel then take a gander at the Aphonion Tales story hour, concentrating on the period after he becomes king.

Forged in Fire: Medieval weapons tested

I found this video on YouTube and thought that people here might find it of interest. Various recreations of medieval weapons are tested.

    D&D General Abyssal breaches?

In the 3E book on the Bright Desert (Rary the Traitor?) there are a couple of places - one an oasis - that are intermittent abyssal breaches. IIRC they look perfectly normal; they just 'feel wrong' and you definitely don't want to stay around after dark. In Iron Crown's Shadow World, breaches...

    D&D 5E (2014) Guide to cruddy spells (v1.01)

I'm not grokking your hate for Demiplane. It's not a combat spell. But consider its use for a mage's lab. Or a treasure room. The party's private treasure room. It's not a spell to have memorised; rather it's one to have on a scroll or in an item. A Portable Door instead of a Portable Hole. I...

D&D 5E (2014) The Death Bringer! One Shot K.O Divine Soul Sorcerer.

When a non-spellcaster goes up against a primary spellcaster then the spellcaster is going to win. Spells are pretty much 'I win' buttons. And they're supposed to be.

D&D 5E (2014) The Death Bringer! One Shot K.O Divine Soul Sorcerer.

Just a nitpick but Empower Spell doesn't work like Advantage: you must use the second roll and, with a 16 stat, you can reroll only 3 of the 4 dice. And, of course, when you land your attack you'll end up with all 1s and 2s and have blown your shot for the day. :) It's a high risk, high reward...

Playtest (A5E) Level Up Playtest Document #13: Cleric

I can't help but feel that the whole cleric thing in D&D is too monotheistic. In D&D worlds polytheism is the norm, and historically it was the job of the priest to speak to and serve all the gods. Therefore I'd like to see the D&D cleric modelled in that vein. One dedicated to a pantheon rather...

Playtest (A5E) Level Up Playtest Document #10: Adept

I've just read the draft and all I'll say is that I'm disappointed to see that Dex is still the uber-stat. Since the class represents a disciplined warrior, how about allowing the use of Proficiency Bonus instead? So unarmoured AC, for example, becomes 10 + Wis + (Dex or Proficiency Bonus)...
