If your DM had said You COULD take pact boons cantrips as extra cantrips with slots, what ones would you have swapped?

my issue is that you get 1 extra invocation but even if we say you don't need the 3rd 4th and 5th level slots, you need to spend 4 to just get back to having a 6th 7th 8th and 9th level ones

if it's clear we both would an no one would ask this qustion... clear isn't "I can pick up on it" it's "Everyone can pick up on it." The Op has an experienced group that had a question. I can see arguments either way. None of that leads to something being 'clear'

if you have to do something carefully or repeatedly it isn't clear... clear is eaasy to pick up with a 1st read.

by the way the devs in the youtube video talked about the story point of being able to enter pacts with more then 1 creature

so then again, why did the OP have to ask, and why did the DM not have a clear answer? Why can I read it both ways without twisting?

eldritch blast doesn't matter one way or the other becase all warlocks get it... but book of shadows says its a warlock cantrip, and a warlock cantrip being a cantrip a warlock can choose makes sense. both arguments have points I don't see how something that a good faith argument can be made...

what am I missing? Sap has no prerequ it can be put on any weapon. yeah 7th level swap and somehwere in the teens have two is way too late for little boosts

if you see that thread not everyone see that as clear... a warlock cantrip being a cantrip a warlock can choose is a 'common language reading" of the text. I am not even 100% convinced it's a power issue.

they are just listed in spells so far so what makes you think they wont be in the PHB? and as the OP said if they were listed under class feature instead of spells it would dispel this issue 100% buut are listed in the spells section under cantrips as warlock cantrips. I don't think they are...

I am saying it isn't clear. You can argue that a 1st level warlock can take all three without twisiting the rules of tth game.

IT also says that those other cantrips are warlock cantrips so far in 5e specific beats generic, and a cantrip beinng a cantrip for warlocks seems to trump the 'from arcane list" Now the issue is you can argue the reverse, that in this case the specific is "arcane list" but a good faith...

I would say that if you are a warlock warlock cantrips are open to you?
